2019 is almost over and it's time again to summarize the year.

I've read a number of lists ranking the best series of 2019, from all kinds of entertainment magazines. These are the series that are mentioned most frequently (in no particular order):

  • Fleabag
  • Watchmen
  • Chernobyl
  • Succession
  • When They See Us
  • Russian Doll
  • Unbelievable
  • Stranger Things
  • The Crown
  • BoJack Horseman
  • Barry
  • Catastrophe

But........... How does your top list of 2019 look like???

Rank as many as you like. A top 3 list or a top 200 list.

my mind is mixing up what I watched in 2018 and 19, like Im not sure if Unforgotten was this year on TV or last year

I did enjoy Baptiste
Keeping Faith
Deep Waters
Strangers
The Split
Line of Duty but not half as good as S1-3

This would be my favorite shows of 2019:

1. BH90210
It was great fun to catch up with the familiar faces from my youth. I think the fact that they didn't do a traditional reboot but instead a parody of sorts of Hollywood and the whole reboot formula was a fresh take on it. I really enjoyed this show.
Oh and I love the updated opening credits. Such nostalgia! :)
The only sad thing was that Luke Perry died before the show went into production. He was missed. :(

2. Fuller House
I haven't actually watched the new season yet. But I love how this reboot has stayed true to the original. So I am pretty sure it will be in second place. Just too bad it's the final season. I will miss this show.

3. The Crown

I've discovered this show this year on DVD. I have always been interested in the British royal family so a show all about them from a historical POV is great. I love it.

4. Chernobyl
I didn't get to finish it but what I saw was interesting.

I was like that. I actually listed BODYGUARD and then did a quick check on Wiki to see it aired in Aug 2018 and the fantastic THE CRY which also aired in 2018.

The years just fade into each other and they come so quickly too.

I remember only thanks to episodecalendar.com
I need to tick the boxes for each episode of each series I watch so I won't forget which episode I'm on. Also helps to keep track of when a new episode has come out.
Without that website, I'd be lost.

This thread made me realise how little current TV I watch.

1. Chernobyl - It was by far the best drama of the year. Just excellent and addictive in every way.
2. Pose S2- I think this is technically from 2018? But it didn't air here until this year. It was as good as season 1.
3. The Crown S3 - Not my favourite season but it was still a great show.
4. Queer Eye. I have enjoyed every season of this on Netflix.
5. Game Of Thrones S8 - I had forgot about this one. I didn't hate the ending as much as everyone else. I long thought she was a crazy bitch anyway.
That's about it. I lost interest in Stranger Things midway through season 3, I may go back to it but it just felt like it had entered into silly territory even for a sci-fi show.

Same goes for me.

I haven't seen most of those mentioned above but I would include:
Killing Eve
The Handmaid's Tale
The Good Fight
Vikings

The Big Bang Theory
seemed to be running out of steam so I think they probably ended it at the right time. The finale was great, though.

Now, I think I will add Castle Rock season 2 to the "New seasons" list.
I'm watching episode 7 and so far, so good.

I’m not great at ranking tv shows, I usually enjoy everything I watch as I watch with an open mind saying this is just entertainment.

I will say that one show that hooked me in from the first episode and still keeps me riveted is the blacklist. They are constantly turning everything inside out and upside down.
