I loved the first two parts. And I enjoyed the third and fourth films, cheesy as they were.
It's a good few years since I've watched them, though I have them all on DVD. They're not the kind of films I could watch with any regularity, but once in a while when I'm in the right mood they really hit the spot.
I really enjoyed the first two Nolan films (haven't got round to watching the third yet). They looked great. Christian Bale puts me off, though. He seems very unpleasant in real life, and then there's that silly Patty & Selma voice he did as Batman.
The first two are great. Really good. I think of the original Christopher Reeve
Superman as
the definitive superhero film. It's never been topped.
The second film is a great sequel (filmed alongside the first), and also has an alternative cut which is
very different to the theatrical version. I enjoy both cuts in different ways.
The third film is really daft, but kind of fun.
And the same goes for
Supergirl, which has Faye Dunaway at her campest - getting into a war with Supergirl over Cecil Colby's son. Then there's Peter Cook chewing the furniture along with her.
Watching Dunaway and her snarky sidekick Brenda Vaccaro trading lines always makes me feel like I'm watching a bizarre crossover featuring Alexis Carrington and Laura Avery.
The fourth Superman film is dire. Just awful. I only re-watch it because I keep convincing myself it can't be as bad as I remember.
She's great!!
