Episodes 375-390 (...continued) Two new locales have made their series debut. In Episode 385 we first set foot inside the new surf club. Five episodes later, it’s the glamorous and grand opening of The Sands Resort. An event reminiscent of Amity Island’s new hotel opening in Jaws 2. A number of regulars gather at the event. Gordon, Stacey and Tom, of course. Pippa is there to accompany Tom. And Andrew to accompany Stacey. Alf and Ailsa, too, are there. In a nice touch, Gordon asks Ailsa if the resort meets with her approval and she comments that she’s reserving judgement. Ailsa’s campaign against the resort is mentioned - albeit more obliquely - in Gordon’s opening speech: It took me aback slightly to think that the resort has probably been part of the storylines in the series for well over a year now. Not long in the grand scheme of things to plan, build and open a large resort. But a very long time in soap. Especially such a young soap as this one. I have to applaud the continuity. Brad is in town for the opening’s showpiece: the debut performance from Image. Now, Image’s song, Living Without Your Love has been recorded with session musicians and I must confess it sounds good. Really good.
