My thoughts on why some of these shows didn't work.
The Colbys: Had no chance in the same time slot as Cheers and Night Court.
Models Inc: Timing wise, it came on when 90210 peaked and Melrose Place was about to peak, so in theory it should have had a built-in audience. Among the new offerings in Fall 1994, it was overshadowed by two shows that would be among the definitive shows of their respective genres in the 1990s, ER and Friends.
The Monroes: Had no chance in the same time slot as Seinfeld.
Central Park West: Wrong network at the wrong time. CBS was a mess in the 1990s.
Pacific Palisades: Timing wise, it came on when 90210 and Melrose Place were pretty much done for so the audience for that type of show wasn't really there anymore.
Titans: Wrong network. NBC never had a successful primetime soap.

Too many of these shows came along too late to capitalize on the late-night soap craze.
