Well after many months of limping about - or hobbling a la Dusty Farlow - my walking is "nearly but not quite" back to normal - but took the bull by horns and went up the local hills, 1st time since i fell in July
My heart was in my mouth at times, it was slippy, muddy and I was petrified at times and scared of falling
BUT!! I did it!! and Im feeling quite pleased with myslef!
Glad to hear it.
I had trouble recently. As a family member got ill, hid their illness from me for a week, during which they infected me with it, so I was out of action for three weeks, which sent my blood glucose levels rocketing up into the early 20s (mmol/L). Then the same family member got a detached retina, with a unknown growth behind it. So I had to travel up with them, to a specialist eye centre for diagnosis and consultation and then back again for a few days for surgery. I was a short distance from where Hollyoaks is made, and I had to stay in a hotel which was decked out like a cruise ship. And force myself to eat all you can eat breakfasts and other meals, to keep my strength up. And avoid getting seasick. Humphrey Bogart was there behind the hand cleaning stuff, so was able to ask him about playing a villain alongside Ann Dvorak and I thanked him for something he said to Lena Horne. After my most recent return, I have been personally taking care of (not bumping off…this time) this family member, so it affected my activity and my blood glucose levels adversely. Fortunately, the last few days have seen me returning to over 20000 steps a day and blood glucose has been mostly in single figures for the last few days. I have to work on getting the family member out of my way, so this doesn’t happen again.
