The one thing they got right for the most part was JRs funeral, IMO. Add Rebecca and Bo and you're all set: Then: Back at the house Sue Ellen sits in the living room. Bobby start to go to her and John Ross stops him. Jack runs into her and holds her. "It's OK grandmie. Grandpa will wait for you." They hold each other and cry. John Ross walks out of the house. Bobby watches him. In the enormous and grand living room of his mansion Chris begins to tear the room apart, breaking every thing and taking a pocket knife to the fabric. Without uttering a sound his rage rips apart everything. Rebecca sits at her dressing table brushing her hair and singing in a hushed whisper, "Hush, little baby, don't say a word, Papa's gonna buy you a mockingbird. And if that mockingbird don't sing, Papa's gonna buy you a diamond ring. And if that diamond ring turns brass, Papa's gonna buy you a looking glass. And if that looking glass is broke . . ." Her voice trails off into tears. Bo rides his horse as fast has he can around the track, pushing faster, harder, daring the house set to throw him off. Pamela approaches John Ross as he walks down the long driveway. "Where ya going?" "I don't know." "Can I help you John Ross?" "Doubt it." Still walking, now a word is exchanged until they reach the road where Pamela says, "I love you . . ." He keeps walking. "Please John Ross. I know this is the time to say it, but I'm scared . . ." Still walking. "Your daddy swore to me you loved me. You swore it to me." Still walking. "Please," she cries. "Please I don't want to be like your momma, regretting all that time I lost. Please John Ross please." Balling her eyes out she stands still. "Don't leave me. You're the only one who ever loved. Please. I'm so sorry I know this is about you. But I'm scared. Please." He turns around to look at her. "What are you scared of?" "That no body has ever loved me." He chuckles bad begins to walk up to her. "I have loved you all your life. Remember when I was in North Dakota wildcatting, and I'd write to you? You'd write back, 'your secret friend.'" "Well of my dad ever found out we were writing." "It use to kill me. Or when we'd go to dinner and you'd talk about Chris. How good at business he was. How much he taught you. How handsome he was." "That bothered you?" "Of course it did." "But you never said. I was waiting for you to be jealous. But you never were." "Never was? All I wanted to do was kick the shit out of him. Did a few times. Our fights were legiondary. And Uncle Bobby always took my side. Which only made Chris resent him even more." "I'm sorry John Ross. I honestly didn't think you cared. I wanted you too. I hoped you would. And all those girlfriends of yours. I thought . . ." "I told you they never meant anything to me. Just you. Only you. You never once acted jealous." "What and show you I was hurt." "Hurt over what? If you'd told me . . . I wouldn't have given them a thought if you'd given me any hope." "Please. Please grow old with me. Please." John Ross picks her up and carries her back down the long drive way. In the kitchen Bobby makes pancakes and Ray makes sausages and Gary makes fresh squeezed orange juice as Sue Ellen and Jack watch. "It's pretty cool having breakfast for lunch, grandma." "Yeah I guess it is, Jack. Gary hands her a doctored up drink, blood orange with a celery stick and says, "That'll help with the hang over." Sue Ellen smiles and drinks the awful concoction. Bobby hands them both plates of pancacks. Then Ray sits down a plate of bacon between them. Rebecca walks in the doorway, "Something smells good. So are you telling me the Ewing men can cook?" Gary says, "I don't know what happened to the Ewing women. Momma was the best cook. And Val can hold her own. But JR. Well he just married himself a beauty queen with a heart of gold." "Why thank you Gary," Sue Ellen says. "What about me?" Rebecca asks while stealing a piece of bacon. Bobby takes her other hand bad says, "They wrote a warning song about girls like you." He then starts to sing, "If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife; it's my personal point of view, get an ugly girl to marry you." Gary sets his phone down playing the Jimmy Soul song, clapping with Jack as Bobby sings with the song and dances with Rebecca. Bo plays in bed with three gorgeous girls, laughing, giggling and moaning. He says, "Like my daddy always said, where there's a way, there's a will." (the playful music from the kitchen continues). John Ross and Pamela make love in her bed in the cottage out back, slow and tender and thoughtful. Fade to black. Christopher sits in the mess of his living room. "I'll take Trident Uncle JR. You wait and see. I'll show you. I'll show every last one of them." https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pAgnJDJN4VA Elevator doors open and Christopher walks through the executive sweet of Trident passed portraits of Jock and JR and Rebecca. An oil gusher comes in spewing oil all over a Texas field. The final words on the screen, 'In memory of Larry Hagman," and the AC/DC song plays on. JR walks down the long driveway of South Fork in his Stetson running 3 minutes over the hour.
