Thanks for explaining. I think you are probably right that VP would not return to do a Dallas reunion show even though a lot of fans certainly wished that she would. I know that it was the most talked about topic in the Dallas TNT room. How Pam could be brought back. I think two interviews with VP actually sparked some hope among fans that she would return. The first one was from Ultimate Dallas in 2006 where she said: Tatianna in Virginia asks Hello Miss Principal. Pamela was such a popular character and fans feel disappointed at the way her character just simply disappeared without giving the viewers closure. How do you feel about her exit from the show and is Pamela dead? Victoria Principal – I liked the exit. I thought the fiery car crash was a punctuation mark, I liked it. It was dramatic and I was glad I didn’t have a lingering death scene, it was clean. Do I consider Pamela dead? I would think as long as I’m alive Pamela is not dead. Having played her for nine years there is just some sort of molecular process that goes on and she is now a part of me. http://www.ultimatedallas.com/victoriaprincipal/victoria3.html It's a really great interview that sheds a lot of light on her opinions of the role of Pam and the time she spent on Dallas portraying her. The second interview was from Dallas Fanzine in early 2011 or possibly late 2010 after the TNT Dallas revival show had been announced: VP: Now I have to ask you something...since you sound that you would honestly like to see me come back in the new Dallas show - How would you bring me back? Would I be a grandmother? Would I have been frozen? How would you bring me back? RJ (Interviewer): I definitely wouldn't do the frozen thing because that would be way off the scale. VP: Cryptogenics? RJ: No. How would we like to see Pam back on the show? That's a six marker. You've got me there Victoria. VP. Ahaa. RJ: We might leave that open to the fans to decide and have a vote. VP. Yes, I'd like to see what the fans say because how would one bring Pam back so it would honor who she was on the show and the way she left. So that it didn't demean that history. RJ: Well there you go to all the fans out there. It's up to them now to come up with a good idea to get Pam back on Dallas. It might work, you never know. http://dallasfanzine.com/ So well what happened was that the fans sent in our ideas for how we wanted Pam to return and I suspect VP might have read a couple of them and realized that most people wanted Bobby and Pam to reunite and loved them as a couple. However that was never gonna happen if she had returned to Dallas TNT since CC adored Bobby and Ann and would never split up her favorite couple. So therefore when the rumours of Pam returning in season two of Dallas TNT started to intensify VP squashed those rumors with her statement. So to sum up I think VP could maybe have been persuaded to return to Dallas if the right storyline and a great script had been presented to her. But since CC and her team were unable to deliver that she was not interested in returning as Pam in something that would only end up disappointing the fans. :( So therefore Pam was just declared dead on Dallas TNT and I really hated how that storyline played out. I would have prefered if they had left it alone or even done a recast! I mean they could recast an insignificant character like Tracy McKay that had zero storyline potential but not Pam who had so much storyline potential? It really didn't make any sense to me. :2B:
