Thank you for checking in @stevew I wondered where you'd went! :) I know what you mean about the year being totally bizarre. I had planned to travel abroad myself this year, but it's really impossible with this stupid virus being all over the globe! :( Glad to hear work is going well for you. I also look forward to hear what you think of the story once you've managed to catch up! ;) Wishing you all the best too! :hugs: Okay so here's the next update. * Ann was standing in the middle of her hotel room packing her suitcase when Harris walked into her room the next morning. Realizing that she was leaving because of what had happened last night Harris felt like he’d blown it. “Oh Annie you don’t have to leave on my account.” “Yes I really have to,” Ann insisted. “Emma is doing fine so she doesn’t need me here to support her. So there’s no point for me to stick around.” “Is this because of the kiss last night?” Harris asked and he observed how she grew tense from that. Apparently he’d gotten to her last night. But she was afraid to admit it. “No why do you think that?” “No particular reason,” Harris said. “It was just that it’s been a long time since you’ve kissed me like that.” “Yes it has but that kiss was a mistake and it won’t happen again.” “I’m sorry you feel that way Annie,” Harris said. “Not as sorry as I am that you won’t respect my marriage,” Ann said. “I’ve told you before that nothing can happen between us and yet you keep on trying.” “Is that why you’ve decided to run away from me?” Harris asked. “To keep me from trying?” “No I’m going home because I want to be able to see my husband in the eye when I come home and if I stay here much longer with you I might do something that I am bound to regret.” “So you do have feelings for me,” Harris said, as he grabbed hold of her wrist, stopping her from leaving. “Let go of me,” Ann said. “I’ve got a plane to catch. My taxi is already waiting for me downstairs.” “I take that as a yes,” Harris said with a smirk. “Take it anyway you want, I’m still leaving,” Ann said before she broke free from his grip and walked out the door. It took all her strength to do so. But she felt better the moment she stepped inside of the taxi. Harris had done his best to lure her back to him but she had grown stronger in the years that they were apart so she no longer let him manipulate her. The answer to his question was yes, she did have feeling for him, but that didn’t matter as her mind was all made up. She was going home to Bobby and she was intent to work on her marriage. Little did she know about the heartbreak that was waiting for her once she got back to Dallas. To Be Continued...
