Yet I think a part of her is afraid to stay in Dallas after learning that the truck drove out in front  of her on purpose. She thinks that someone wanted her dead, even though that is not true.[USER=5055]@CeeCee72[/USER] you make an excellent point too in that Jenna should have said no when Ray brought up the idea to adopt Lucas. But she said nothing. I guess she had hoped that Bobby would object but he never did.Okay so in tonight's update it's back to the wedding party.*The wedding dinner was over and the bride and groom were now on the dance floor. Sue Ellen was sitting by herself, at a table, sipping on a club soda when Gary walked up to her and sat down at her table. “So here we are once again at a party where everyone’s drinking!”Sue Ellen turned to look at her former brother in law, “Don’t tell me you’re longing for a drink?”“Aren’t you?” He countered her question.They went silent for a moment as they contemplated that. “You know it’s my one weakness. But I’ve licked it again.”“What happened?”“I hit rock bottom. Really badly,” Sue Ellen sighed. “It wasn’t until I thought I set Southfork on fire and was trying to drink some aftershave at the hospital that I realized it!”He thought he knew where she was going with this but he still wanted to hear her say it. So he prodded, “Realized what?”“What I am and always will be,” Sue Ellen said in a firm voice. “You were right Gary. I am an alcoholic and I needed to face that fact.”“You were right too Sue Ellen,” Gary said.“About what?”“Me and Valene,” Gary said. “Thank you for giving me a kick in the butt when I needed one.”“You’ve patched things up I see?”“Yeah,” Gary nodded. “Things are better now.“I’m glad,” Sue Ellen said, as she put her hand on Gary’s hand, giving it a little squeeze, just as Valene came walking up to them.“Hands off my man Sue Ellen,” Valene said, as she put her hands on her hips.“Hi Valene,” Sue Ellen said. “We were just talking.”“Oh I can see that,” Valene said, pointing at Sue Ellen’s hand, until she withdraw it from Gary’s.“Sue Ellen was just asking about you?” Gary said.“I’m sure,” Valene said.“No really,” Sue Ellen said. “I am glad you’ve patched things up. JR’s death made me realize just how valuable it is to spend time with the one you love before it’s too late.”“But you divorced JR,” Valene reminded Sue Ellen.“Yeah but I never stopped loving him,” Sue Ellen confessed.“I pity you then,” Valene said, as she also sat down at the table, next to Gary.“Thanks but I don’t need your pity,” Sue Ellen said. “JR was the love of my life, just like Gary is yours and that’s all there is to it!”“I’m glad we’ve got that straightened out,” Valene said before she laughed at a memory. “You know what JR used to say when he dropped by for a visit in Knots Landing?”“No what?” Sue Ellen asked.“How’s my favorite sister in law?” Valene smiled and Sue Ellen laughed when she heard that.“Sounds just like him,” Sue Ellen smiled. “You know I think he actually meant it!”“Are you serious?” Valene asked. “I mean JR stole Lucy from me.”“I know that,” Sue Ellen said. “But considering that his other sister in law was Pamela Barnes...”“Yep face it honey, you were his favorite,” Gary said and Valene pondered that for a moment.“You know it’s weird, I really hated the man when he was alive. But now when he’s gone...” Valene sighed. “I sort of miss him.”“I know what you mean. Despite everything he was my brother,” Gary said when Lucy came walking up to them.“Hi what are you talking about?” She asked as she sat down next to Sue Ellen.They exchanged a look before they said in unison, “JR!”Lucy smiled when she heard that, “Oh that reminds me. Guess what I found the other day?”“No what?” Valene asked.“The home video from JR and Cally’s wedding,” Lucy laughed. “Oh boy let me tell you that was one marriage that was doomed from the start. One look at that videotape and you can see that JR was completely bored,” Lucy turned to Sue Ellen, “He was more interested in trading insults with you than in his bride.”“Oh yeah I remember that,” Sue Ellen sighed. “If I hadn’t given Cally some advice she wouldn’t even have gotten him to the altar. Still I hadn’t counted on how painful it was going to be to see him get married to someone else.”“I get what you’re talking about,” Gary sighed before turning to his wife. “I didn’t stay for the ceremony but do you remember that day when you were marrying Ben and I came to see you before the ceremony?”“Yeah," Valene nodded. "I thought my heart was going to break in two when you wished me more happiness than I’ve ever had in my life,” Valene said emotionally.“Well it wasn’t easy to say that,” Gary sighed. “But I figured that since I was married to Abby, I’d rather have you marrying Ben than some jerk. At least he was a good guy. Unlike Danny.”“Don’t even mention Danny,” Valene grimaced.Sue Ellen looked questioningly at them, “Who’s Danny?”“My mom’s third husband,” Lucy explained.“Oh I didn’t realize you’ve been married so many times Valene,” Sue Ellen said. “You’ve got me beat I’ve only had two husbands.”“Well what can I say?” Valene shrugged her shoulders and smiled sheepishly, “When I am in love I want to be married. I guess I’m just the marrying kind.”The women exchanged a smile before Sue Ellen changed the topic. “I didn’t think that Emma was the marrying kind."“What makes you say that?” Lucy asked curiously.“She had an affair with John Ross last year,” Sue Ellen confided in them.“Well maybe she’s grown up since then,” Lucy reasoned.“I hope so. Because Lucas deserves to be happy,” Sue Ellen said and the others nodded in agreement, since like all the guests at the wedding they couldn’t help but wishing the newly wedded couple the best of luck  and hope it worked out.</blockquote>
