Thanks @DallasFanForever You know I was 11 when I started watching Dallas with my parents. So maybe if she's interested you can share some of your favorite shows with her now!
You know, I’ve tried to push my shows on her for a long time now. But so far with no luck. The Disney Channel seems to be all she cares about watching these days but I won’t stop trying.

Thank you, you're very kind and some great answers too. I have a few more questions, if I may:
  1. What word or sentence best describes your life right now?
  2. What has made you sad, mad and glad recently?
  3. If someone was making a film of your life who would you want casted to play you?
I think the word that best describes my life right now is change. There’s a lot of it going on; at work, personally, with family and friends. I’m not crazy about change sometimes, but then sometimes something changes and you realize it may have been a blessing in disguise.

What has made me sad recently? Definitely the fact that so many of our countries had hundreds of thousands of deaths in the last year due to Covid. It never should’ve gotten as far out of hand as it did.

Mad? People that look down on others for whatever reason. We’re all the same. I can’t take snobbish behavior. I don’t look down on anyone and I don’t like when I feel it being done to me.

Glad? The fact that life is slowly starting to get back to normal. It doesn’t excuse what’s happened in the past year but at least we’re moving in the right direction.

A film of my life could only be played by Kevin Costner. He’s my favorite actor of all time and I’ve seen just about every film he ever made. I talk about him stealing my script for Field of Dreams but the truth is it’s still one of my favorite movies ever and I can’t see anyone else back then playing that character the way he did.

Did you watch the 2012-'14 TNT Dallas? What are your thoughts of that series if I may ask?
I watched the entire first season. I wasn’t too crazy about the show. It just didn’t have the feel of the original for me. I came back to check in from time to time but I just couldn’t get back into it. But I did love how they handled J.R.’s funeral.

Your replies to all your questions are great to read DFF and I've just read what you said about your niece, she is so lucky to have you in her life , because you obviously think the world of her :)

Having chatted to you before, I do know how hard you work and how conscientious you are. I was wondering, if you had the opportunity to chose any job what would it be ?

Would you say you are artistic or creative in any way?

Also, are you a collector of anything?

Thanks.

Thank you for the kind words ‘Lashes!! Ur definitely one of the people I look forward to seeing on this forum the most every day and I mean that.

If I had the opportunity to choose one job? I would say the obvious, professional baseball player, but to me that never would’ve been a job. That was my dream. But if I was doing something other than what I’m doing now? I could see myself being a private investigator. I’m very good at figuring things out. I can read people well, and I’ve often been right when it comes to finding out “who done it”in a situation.

I’m definitely not what you would consider an artistic or creative person at all. I’ve always wished I was, but I’m just not.

I collected most things boys my age collected back in the 80s. I collected thousands upon thousands of baseball cards and Matchbox cars, Lego sets, Star Wars action figures, Hot Wheels, etc. I think I still have most of it but some of it I don’t even know where they are now. I gave a lot of it to my nephew cause he was threatening to steal it all someday anyway.

I didn’t like the Peter-Sue Ellen storyline very much but I do love the last scene when he gets dragged out screaming and kicking. That scene was vintage J.R. and I can’t remember a James scene that stands out. I don’t blame the actor but more the writing at that point.
So true. On Dallas the writing for all young characters - early 20s and younger - was terrible. They let their younger characters behave and speak too much like pure hormone driven morons (Lucy, Charlie and James) or like little adults (John Ross and Christopher). Something I disliked as a teenage viewer back then. ;)

I think the one that disappointed me the most was Lucy. It just seemed like they never really could find anything for her to do. And I never quite understood that. I don’t blame Charlene one bit. I always loved the Lucy at the beginning of the miniseries. The spoiled little rich girl, the schemer, the sarcasm; I thought Charlene played that pretty well. I’ve said on many threads here that I wish they could’ve returned her to more of that side of her character. I would’ve liked to have seen her throw in with Uncle J.R. at some point and maybe cause some trouble together.

I did enjoy her storyline with Mickey. But again, once he died it was right back to her really having nothing to do.

I think that was the problem with male producers and writers who prior to Dallas worked on male dominated western and cop-shows. They used stereotypes for women, teenagers or children that were strange to me as a young viewer. Despite this I didn't mind when Charlie had her almost-affair and also liked James and Michelle for the fresh injection because at that point J.R. vs. Cliff appeared like a battle of dinosaurs.

Lucy had so much potential and Charlene Tilton was at her best delivering sarcastic comments, yes! I always wanted to see her at Ewing Oil as a secretary. She knew all the Oil people from talks at home and could have done so much damage against J.R. there...

This isn’t going to be a popular opinion but Game of Thrones. I just could never get into it. And I don’t know one person that shares my opinion.
Hello my name is Josie and I share this opinion.
my coworker let me borrow season 1 like last year and I still haven’t finished it. I got bored.
I should really give her the DVDs back

It took me 9 or 10 years to get into Game Of Thrones. I tried, many, many times. I could not go beyond episode 2. Each time I tried, and I watched again episodes 1 & 2 (because I forgot most of them) and again & again, I was giving up. This year, I watched directly episode 3, skipping 1 & 2... A few episodes later, I was totally hooked. The 4 first seasons are amazing imo. One of the best TV I watched in years. I am happy that I tried again. Maybe one day , or in ten years, you will enjoy it too ;)

How are you finding being in the spotlight DFF? would you recommend doing it? :D

* Do you have a favourite day of the year?
* Do you like to daydream?

and finally ..

* What question would you have liked someone to ask you, but they haven't?

Thanks.
