It was a very uneven series, an unfunny comedy with the odd promise of a more traditional but modern soap opera. Whatever happened to that 1% thing? I don't know what it means if a series is "saved by netflix" and at the same time I'm not sure if it means nothing at all. The way they tampered with the original storylines and characters was a fun idea but unfortunately it also exposed the lack of vision and creativity (or agreement) for this alternative Dynasty world. I had hoped that it would at the very least avoid the problems of 80s DYNASTY, not to pile up on that. Nevertheless, the association with the original series has maintained a level of curiosity and it's precisely those twists (e.g. the death of Mark Jennings) that made it so entertaining. But that still left a lot of story gaps to fill and I guess the screwball gimmickry was supposed to do exactly that. Without the vision of someone like Marc Cherry it quickly became a soap/dramedy pap with Ms. Gillies grating voice on top of that. The idea that she could potentially pop up in any new show fills me with horror, hence why I'm devastated to read about the cancellation of Fallon Unlimited.
