I stayed up the first couple of nights but doing that for 5 weeks is simply unsustainable. Will definitely keep watching the earlier matches though and stay up for the odd more interesting match. I've also got up early a few days and watched the overnight matches on demand over breakfast without having the score spoiled so that's an option. The Cape Verde v Spain match was a good display of the magic of the world cup especially when they nearly won it with that header that missed the target. It's not just about money, it's about FIFA and intercontinental federation politics - after all FIFA is non-profit, but that's for another time. Hopefully it will expand to 64 teams for 2030 or 2034 as that would return us to 2 teams progressing from each group. France v Senegal tonight, without doubt one of the more interesting ties of matchday 1. Then all eyes can start focussing on England v Croatia tomorrow night which will no doubt light the fire of interest for many here in the UK. I have to say I've enjoyed most of the matches I've watched so far.
