I think my favourite characters of Hotel are Liz Taylor and Iris, so tragic. Stay tuned, great and crazy stuff ahead!

Well I finished the season, somehow. I basically bombed through it in one day, episode after episode hoping it would get better. I don't think it did. It was my least favourite season so far and has killed my AHS appetite for the time being. FREAK SHOW had that same disconnected convoluted feeling as COVEN and felt like a hot mess to me. Characters seemed to switch personalities on a whim just to suit where the writers wanted to drag the show. The story felt meandering and awfully dragged out, like they didn't know what the hell they were doing. It felt the longest of all the seasons so far, and not in a good way. Also like COVEN it just wasn't all that scary. It was more like a camp comedy most of the time. It felt a bit of a waste of some of the acting talent on the show too. It was Lange's least interesting character so far. I'm sure she was tired of all the demented histrionics.

I loved Freak Show it was one of my favourites. I loved how we got to see the characters background history. It was the first of the series that made me cry.

Freak Show is amazing, certainly right up there alongside Murder House as my favourite. I cried in Freak Show as well @jessie
I couldn't get into Asylum but everyone keeps saying I should give it another go. I gave up on Coven half way through. I cannot stand Emma Roberts.

Yes, do it.
I think this one is a slow burner and it takes a while before you start connecting the dots, but when that happens, you're pulled in from every direction.

Interesting, the show is quite good in adressing very different tastes and attracting different audience expectations with each season.
Which should be one of the strength of an anthology series, of course. I love it.
Every new start of a season is a complete surprise bag and one should never quit completly, because you never know, maybe next year could be your alltime favourite season of AHS.
What an exciting concept where literally anything could happen with a marvellous cast! How about a sci-fi season next year, ALIEN-style, with an earth colony set on a far away planet, threatened by some gruesome aliens? Everything is possible ...

I don't like her either and don't see the fascination with her. She's like mediocre at best. Annoying at her worst.

My problem with it is that it doesn't feel like it flows naturally. The last 2 seasons I watched, Coven and Freak Show felt as if they were retooled in the middle. I get that they probably like surprise twists and turns but it just didn't feel well plotted out to me. Like they just make it up as they go along. It was sort of throwing everything in to see what would stick. A big camp blender full of everything. That's not what I really wanted it to be. The first 2 seasons were genuinely frightening then.... not so much. I looked up Hotel and from what I saw it looked like a Gaga music video with multiple throat slittings. Theoretically it should be the season I would love, being about vampires and that whole hotel California vibe, and yet I don't feel I want to watch it.Am i the only one that loved "Coven"?

When I said that some of the acting talent was wasted I meant this...
Jessica Lange = Demented psycho bitch. Check!
Evan Peters = Tortured soul. Check!
Angela Bassett = Angry black woman. Check!
Denis O'Hare = Creepy Weirdo. Check!
Sarah Paulsen = Tortured good girl. Check!
It's formulaic and I don't even think that was intentional. Maybe Gaga changes things but I wont be finding out any time soon.

Absolutely!
I also think this show had the best atmosphere and ambience.
None of the AHS series really scared me but there are plenty of disturbing scenes. I'll never volunteer for a magician's act, that's for sure
I loved Elsa Mars, she was a ruthless, egocentric and manipulative bitch and yet sometimes I felt sorry for her, and even understood her (maybe it's that gay-icon-thing).
That scene when she was reunited with the German carpenter, that's the one that almost made me cry. Jessica Lange is such a chameleon, how she transforms from nasty to vulnerable in just a second...it's just amazing. I adore her.
