This Is How (We Want You To Get High)

This Is How We Want To Get High - is the first music to be shared from George Michael since 2012. The previously unheard and unreleased song was recorded during his final studio sessions and is the finale to Last Christmas, the new romantic comedy inspired by the music of George Michael and Wham!

The film, co-written by Oscar-winning actress and screenwriter Emma Thompson, stars Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke and Crazy Rich Asians‘ Henry Golding. The movie’s director, Paul Feig, describes
Last Christmas as “a love letter to George”.

George’s sisters, dad and longtime manager David Austin said: “We hope fans and lovelies everywhere rejoice in hearing this great new song written as ever with Yog’s immense passion and pride.”

I never imagined we would ever hear new music from George Michael and I just love this track. Its wonderful to hear his voice again and yet, at the same time it makes me feel sad because he has gone.

2017 I think (unless it is 2016)
I can't say it is going to be a favourite of mine, but George Michael has enough beautiful songs to last me a full transatlantic flight (speaking from experience).
In December 2016 I was actually listening to "Last Christmas" in a coffee shop and thinking how much of a classic Xmas song that is now considered--and really, while many artists record Xmas albums, hardly anyone gets this kind of result. Ironically, it was that same Christmas that would be his last.
Maybe because of his very soothing soul voice, maybe because of his association with my adolescence, or maybe because he matured same as my own music tastes did, he is the one that I have a hard time remembering he is dead when I hear one of his songs.

I had no idea that the movie Last Christmas was inspired by George and Wham! Now it's a must see. George was and still is wonderful. It's fantastic that they have released this new song. He is a fav of Mr. TBG and I. We miss him and we listen to his music often now I can add this one to our list.

Off topic sort of........
Emilia Clarke is a fantastic actress not only from Game of thrones but has anyone seen her in the movie Me Before You? It's a wonderful movie.

Here is the trailer.

Three more unheard George Michael tracks are set to be released after they were unearthed by his former songwriting partner and best friend David Austin.

David Austin is ready to release the tracks after helping to create the upcoming intimate documentary GEORGE MICHAEL FREEDOM UNCUT.

David said: - "There are three or four recordings that were finished. After Amy (Winehouse) had passed away, they pulled all those demos out of the drawer and started getting people involved in them. We would never do that. George’s body of work is his complete body of work. That is what we have to work with — and there are a few tracks that are finished."

A documentary called GEORGE MICHAEL FREEDOM UNCUT is set for release on 22 June this year, with the singer having started work on it before his death.

The film will tell the story of George's career in his own words, with the new tracks being included in addition to the song THIS IS HOW, which came out posthumously in 2019.

I think its been poorly advertised but I believe its available in some cinemas. I'm hoping it will soon be available on TV too.

You might have already seen these clips? but I'll still post them here just in case ..

Hearing his voice again reminds me of what a great loss he still is.

George Michael continues to help others

Newly published figures disclose that his businesses donated almost £2 million to his charity last year.

Three of the companies which channelled his millions had given cash to the Mill Charitable Trust, which is now run by his surviving sister, Yioda.

Robobuild Ltd gave just under £1 million, Wham Music Ltd gave £500,000 and Big Geoff Overseas Ltd gave £375,000.

The charity made donations of £542,483 to good causes in 2023, according to the accounts which have just been published by the Charity Commission.

The fund was initially boosted by the sale of his huge art collection after he died which raised £11.2million at auction.

The singer, who donated to Childline and Cancer Research among others during his lifetime, left the bulk of his £97 million estate to Yioda, 65, and other sister Melanie, who died on Christmas Day, exactly three years after his death, aged 55.

George also left a large amount to charity, including a piano worth £1.7 million that had been owned by John Lennon.

George quietly gave to many charities when he was still with us, he did it with no publicity, this only came to light after his death. He never claimed to be perfect, but he did what he could to help others. I still miss him.

I miss his beautiful voice so much. Of course, I still have his music, but I hate it that there probably won't be anything else new.

And I miss the live performances. Hearing than man sing live is an incredible experience.
