While flipping through old issues of Soap Opera Digest, I came across an article from September 1987 about "Romances That Should Happen". Regarding Knots Landing, the magazine suggested the following pairing:

What do you think of this idea? Should something have happened between Greg and Jill?

I noticed that this September 22, 1987 issue of Soap Opera Digest already mentions Laura's death, two days before the premiere of season 9. I am surprised that Laura's death was announced so early.

Incidentally, regarding Dallas, SOD suggested that Bobby and April should become a couple, and that actually happened.

It was all over the tabloids the summer before it happened. I spent quite a while convinvced it would not happen, even after it did. I thought when they they had the conversation about her body being shipped to the wrong place, that was the "out". Alas, not so

I like the pairing on so many devious levels, however, could never happen: Jill only went for married men. Apparently the Sun reflecting off gold bands drives some women insane...
