That's an incredibly delusional thing to say. If I hate Cheney for being a war monger, what makes you think I want him to endorse anybody? Both Cheney's are political poison.

Of course, everybody that's touting Cheney's endorsement of Harris wouldn't be so quick to whitewash his crimes if he had endorsed Trump instead.

Yes, let's unite with blood thirsty monsters who are responsible for the deaths of thousands due to a war predicated on a lie. It also signals what Harris's foreign policy will be.

Sanders could have used his momentum to help strengthen a third party, but he decided to back the Dems and tout a war monger's endorsement instead. What a shame.
The next President will either be Donald Trump or Kamala Harris, not a third party candidate. Fact. If you don't want Trump, vote for Harris and vice versa. The Cheneys and Bernie know this which is why they rightly are supporting Kamala to keep Trump out of the White House. This has nothing to do with whitewashing crimes and everything to do with keeping the orange one out of power.

My response is simple, and I'm using your own post from the "General Election Watch" thread to make my point. I only had to tweak a few words to make it relevant to me:

I can't vote for the neoliberal version of the Democratic Party, so I'll be voting Green for the third time. I think the neoliberals have turned the party into a Republican-lite austerity party that supports Wall Street, wealthy elites, endless wars, and genocide. That might appeal to former neocon Republican voters, but it goes against my fundamental beliefs.

I think the anger and hatred that voters have for MAGA Republicans, because of the damage they have done to our country, is way stronger than any enthusiasm for the Dems.

The Democratic Party's move to the right will just encourage the Republicans to move further right to distinguish themselves from the Dems. And when people eventually become disenchanted with the Dems, the main alternative for people to vote for will be a far-right party which will be a disaster for our country. If that happens, neoliberals will be partly responsible for that.

If you're voting Green because today's Labour Party "goes against your fundamental beliefs," why are you so strongly opposed to Americans who choose to do the same thing? I know Trump or Harris will be the next president, but that doesn't mean I have to co-sign either of their agendas. A third-party vote or not voting at all send their own message.

The UK voting system is completely different to the one used in the UK. I couldn't vote for Keir Starmer, not because I don't like him but because I don't live in St Pancras North and Holborn & St Pancras South, the area that he represents. However, if voting for Labour was the only way to get rid of the previous Conservative government, I would have voted Labour. Labour were going to win that election no matter what, because they were so far ahead in the opinion polls, so I could vote Green knowing it wouldn't let the Conservatives back in via the back door. I don't pretend to agree with every policy the Greens propose but every vote is a compromise and my vote for the Greens wasn't co-signing every aspect of their agenda nor was it a reject of every Labour policy.

If Kamala Harris was far ahead in the polls I would say, great vote for Jill Stein. However, when things are close and the danger of another Trump Presidency and all the damage that it could do is a real possibility, a vote for Jill Stein is effectively a vote for Donald Trump because all surveys show she overwhelmingly takes more votes from the Democrats than she does from the Republicans. That's why Steve Bannon urged Trump supporters to fund her campaign in previous elections.

The election in the USA is also different because you already have a far right candidate on the ballot paper in the form of Donald Trump. The Republicans don't have to move further right to distinguish themselves from the Democrats. You may be relaxed at the prospect of a racist, misogynist felon being your President but I think it's a scary prospect not just for the USA but for the whole world and I would urge everyone to use their vote to prevent that from happening.

Incidentally, time has proven my comments about the Labour Party to be correct and I'm sure I will be equally correct about the dangers of another Trump Presidency if he is elected.

Actually, neocons like Cheney represent the far right more than Trump does. Both are reprehensible, but neocons are bigger war mongers than MAGA Republicans.

I appreciate the added context about the UK voting system. However, just as Labour was guaranteed to win, I live in a blue state that Democrats have won in every presidential election since 1988. The argument that third parties "take votes from the Democrats" only applies to the swing states (and even so, politicians aren't owed anybody's vote.)

I also resent the idea that I'm "relaxed at the prospect of a racist, misogynist felon being my President." That's a vile thing to say, especially when you know I'm not voting for him. The fact that I'm also not voting for Harris doesn't mean I support Trump by default. However, I'm also not relaxed at the prospect of another vapid, pro-rich/pro-genocide president either. I refuse to compromise on inequality, endless wars, and genocide. We suffer the consequences as long as people remain subservient to the two-party system.

And those us who believe the people of North Carolina instead of Biden and his press secretary, and Ron DeSantis instead of whining Harris, find the possibility of Harris winning the election a far scarier prospect and urge everyone to use their vote to prevent that from happening.

Speaking of which, Harris was roasted on X for pledging financial assistance to Lebanon at this time. One user cleverly said, "I hope you're talking about Lebanon, North Carolina." Of course, that's not the Lebanon that Harris was referring to. Another user on X rightly said "It's amazing that the cause of this 'humanitarian situation' doesn't appear once in your tweet. Israel is destroying Lebanon. This is not a natural disaster! Stop giving Israel bombs to destroy Lebanon, and you can save the aid money too."

Helene survivors only get a pittance of the aid given to other countries. Harris acts like she's saving Lebanon when the Biden Administration is complicit in its destruction.
