Heartbeat - How would you bring the show back?

Heartbeat was a great programme, but was stuck in a 1960s timewarp. To bring the show back, they can either move it on timewise to the present day, a new "Heartbeat" theme if necessary, OR it could always remain a period drama 30 years behind the present time, so it would be in the 1990s now in the 2020s, but then again the same problems and mistakes again the latter and ITV unsure what to do with it.

Anyway, a brought back version, I would include the following characters:-
Aidensfield and Ashfordly police cast - Mike Bradley, DI Shiner, other male sergeant(s) + Rachel Dawson.
"Lovable Rogue" cast - Peggy Armstrong OR a new character.
Aidensfield Residents cast - Lord Ashfordly, David Stockwell, Dawn Bellamy, Jack Hollins, Ben Norton, Andy Ryan. Lord Ashfordly, David Stockwell and Dawn Bellamy ESPECIALLY.

Rosie Cartwright - either a barmaid OR a WPC.

Maybe there could be a sci-fi element where they start to realise they're trapped in some sort of 60s time warp. And then maybe you drop in someone from the present day, kind of like Life on Mars.

They did a version of this in the Heartbeat “universe” in the 00’s. Heartbeat spin-off The Royal got it’s own daytime soap spin-off The Royal Today, which focused on the same hospital but in the present day. It had a decent cast but it only lasted 10 weeks.
