You could see Celeste's early theatre influence trickle into her FALCON CREST work and imho it worked. She could also have pulled off the role of Charlotte Pershing, with her singing experience.

Celeste Holm, Cesar Romero and Anne Archer.

Anna and Cassandra have a chat; after Fr. Chris is revealed as the love child of Julia and Anna's husband Dominic, (a scene from season 5, 1985-'86):

Anna speaks to Cassandra: "Julia was so beautiful; so young, so easy. I threatened your father. I said I would take you and your brother far away. He swore he’d stop me. He said I was crazy if I couldn’t see that it was over between us. He kept saying I was crazy. I couldn’t let anyone take my Dominic away from me. I saw him first. He was mine."

That would have been a good casting decision. I always felt that Jane Greer was a bit too low key in the role and someone like Celeste (or Ginger Rogers who was originally considered for the role) would have given the character a bit more dynamism.

Charlotte is a weak and vulnerable sad character
Jane played it very well but Celeste was not suitable or vulnerable or helpless

Anne Rossini was a good character but as the writers used to do they made her crazy and Cassandra stupid
She would have made a good rival for Angela.
Although I can't imagine her singing, she didn't suit the character
I always thought Michael Sharpe should have been Damon Rossini
He was justified in fighting for Fancon Crest his mother had gone mad and his sister had died
He would have fought for custody of Michael, his nephew, and for control of the inheritance that his mother left him.
Lauren could have been Damon's wife or Michael's babysitter.

I like Jane Greer but Celeste would've been a great Charlotte!
