How to edit a post?

I have looked through the help sites and tried to google the answer across the site but can't find the answer. How do I edit a post that I have made (to fix a typo /error)?

Under each of your own posts is an option to edit (circled in red below):

However, the editing is time limited. At one point it was just 1 hour but it's now 12 hours (I seem to recall talk of extending it further, so perhaps that's something for the mod team to consider).

I know how irritating typos can be once you've spotted them, so if your post is outside the time limit, one of us can edit it for you. Either post details in this thread or you can message me or another mod if you prefer. :)
