Crossroads was never just about Jill Richardson/Harvey/Chance, so killing off the character in itself wasn't a problem. I felt the new Crossroads never really decided if it was meant to be a continuation of the original series or a new soap using the same name. To save the Crossroads revival, they should have taken inspiration from the original series. I would have had David Hunter's son Chris, now a director at Major International Hotels, attempting a hostile takeover of Crossroads Hotel and being totally ruthless in the pursuit of his goal. Brian Jarvis, Jill's cousin, would come back to help Sarah Jane fight off the takeover but really is trying to get his hands on the hotel for himself.
