of one of the big four prime time 80s soaps and be really creative, cutting edge or avant-garde(whatever you want to call it) what would you do?
Television shows all follow certain formulas, but there are times when the writers/directors would be a bit daring. For example, on the "Noises Everywhere" episode of Knots Landing I believe they did a large part of the show without a script.
Any creative ideas? One idea I have is an episode in which there are several scenes of no dialogue. The communication would be through looks, gestures, etc.
Anyone feeling creative today:)

How about if Dynasty was done in the style of the old 20s silents (scenes where the characters move around and speak, but there is no sound on the track; the action is described through title cards between scenes)?

Nice! It would have been interesting in the season 3 episode in which Fallon has her roaring 20s party.

Indeed-- very apropos! If ABC had done it that way then, and advertised it that way then, they would have really gotten the eyeballs, IMO.

Not having to worry about viewer reaction certainly would open up the creative flood-gates.

Note how negatively the viewers react whenever NuDynasty tries something out of the ordinary (the musical episode, the black-and-white episode, etc.) I could actually see NuDynasty wanting to do another "period piece" (the B/W episode had a 1940s style to it) but not doing it out of fear of more negative reactions. I'd especially like to see an episode (or a flashback-heavy episode, at least) with the Carringtons in the 1980s, going full-on shoulder pads, teased hair, and real furs. Blake and Alexis could be in their early 20s, and they could do what Dark Shadows used to do, having the actors play their relatives (Grant Show as Tom Carrington, Eliza Bennett as Alexis, etc.) and have Alan Dale come back in a bad wig as younger Anders. :)

I never knew the CW Dynasty had those kinds of episodes! I've never been the biggest fan, so I was unaware.

I'd probably do an episode towards the end of Dallas dream season where everything seems off, slightly askew and disturbing - think The Cabinet of Dr Caligari - to further that Pam was dreaming.
