Just How Evil Is Priti Patel?

In her latest example of having no compassion or morality, UK Home Secretary has ordered border patrols to force dinghies containing refugees to turn around even though she has been warned this risks boats being capsized and people dying. There just aren't words to described how ashamed I am that my country is behaving in such a disgusting way.

Why are these refugees trying to come here? Partly because Priti Patel's government, under David Cameron, destabilised the region they are escaping from with his poorly thought through invasion of Libya. The UK created the issues and instead of accepting our responsibilities to manage the consequences, Priti Patel thinks it's more desirable to kill refugees than to allow them to come here. What a totally odious person she is.

An Afghan interpreter works for the British but was left behind when British troops pull out of his country. He makes it to France where he's attacked and mistreated by the police. He feels he'll be safe in England because he speaks English, he has friends and family here and can get work in England. He attempts to cross the channel.

Priti Patel: push the boat back and force it to turn around, if it sinks and he dies then tough.

Is this a Britain and Home Secretary we can be proud of?

Are people not tired of this government? Or does it tie in with those who voted for Brexit and will this be the justification?

Because, sadly and tragically a very large part of our population are happy with these decisions. They think everyone who is non white, is going to steal their job and rob their gran.

Sadly, people are not tired of this government. They see them as the best way to realise the xenophobic policies they desire. It's why the government try to stir up hate because they see it as an easy route to getting votes. This is not my anti-Tory views but those of the some decent Tories such as Baroness Warsi who said "we are prepared to tell lies, to spread hate and xenophobia just to win a campaign. For me that’s a step too far."

The UK will eventually just start to turn on each other, when there is no one else left to hate.

I grew up in a country where hate was the ‘norm’ for before I was born and for nearly 25 years after it and it’s still not fully over here.

It breaks my heart people still find it acceptable to vote for a government that want to keep this type of hatred going.

There was an interesting point made today , that most ethnic minority groups tend not to vote Tory and by around 2041 38% of the population will be those groups, increasing to almost half by 2061.

Point being that as we become more diverse , the Tory hold will dwindle. We can only hope that is the case.
