[QUOTE="knots4309, post: 409225, member: 55928"] They didn't run season 7 in 1986. Knots Landing first hit off network syndication markets in the fall of 1985 and the initial package only consisted of seasons 1 through 5. Seasons 6 and 7 were added in the fall of 1987. The syndication package was usually a couple of seasons behind the network season. In DFW, WFAA Channel 8 (ABC affiliate) ran Knots Landing weekdays at 3pm central after General Hospital. They later aired Knots in January of 1988 through August of 1988 at 11:35pm central after Nightline adding seasons 6 and 7. By the way Dallas was packaged the same way with Lorimar Presents and "Last Time" and a narrated recap. Only the first 222 episodes (through the end of the dream season) were packaged this way. It also suffered the same fate as Knots as only these 222 episodes were seen in syndication until TNN became the first US channel to air the entire series in the fall of 1996. TNT briefly ran Dallas in the Fall of 1991 with Knots, but only the first 222 episodes (though they were not the Lorimar Presents syndicated prints, but the original network prints). The reason these recaps were created was because being the first serialized shows on network television, they were worried about how they would sell/perform in syndication. The concern was if viewers could follow the story line being tied together across many episodes and how it would affect viewership. So, Lorimar also stipulated in the syndication agreement that for both series the episodes must be shown in sequential order. Stations could not skip episodes or show them out of sequential order.
