Oprah Winfrey For President? The Idea Reveals An Uncomfortable Truth

Whether you like - or not - Oprah Winfrey, she is entitled to run for President. It's then up to the voters based on the nominees policies to vote accordingly and that is usually when all the wheels fall off the wagon. Just like other countries the race for the top office has become more about the popularity contest rather than viewing the governments past performance or future policies. I've now been voting for 35 years. Each and every time an Election is approaching I've listened to what each party is going to do for Health, Education but more importantly the Economy. Guess what? Nothing changes. My local school still operates just like it did when I began my education there in 1970. The local hospital still operates from the same site albeit with extensions. I've reached a point in my life where I no longer care. Politics has become this almighty beast which sucks the life out of you if your not watching. Politicians believe the 24 NEWS Channels are there for their personal, "I need to tell the world something important."

As I write this it would appear Oprah has said no to running for President in 2020. Why run for something and exact change when you can stand on the podium of the Golden Globes and feel the warm embrace of those leftie media darlings...and do nothing.
Sad but true. I've had a jaded view of politics ever since Obama let me down. The 2016 election just pushed me over the edge with the Dems rigging primaries, and now many of the so-called "resisters" of Trump are going along with his bullshit policies. It's disgusting, but everybody thinks there's this stark difference between Democrats and Republicans.

It makes me understand why George Carlin didn't vote. Every four years, everything seems to get just a little bit worse. Trump just puts a shitty face on already shitty policies. I truly believe there are people out there who would make a real difference if elected, but the two party system intentionally keeps them out. Like Carlin said, it's a big club and we're not in it.

Same rule applies here in Australia. Some in the electorate (voters/muppets) still hold dear to their dying breath there is a fundamental difference between the Liberal and Labor Parties. There isn't. It's been like that for a long time. Even my 80 year father will admit to that. He has voted Conservative (Liberal) all his life but now votes Independant, someone not beholden to one of the two major parties.

I don't really follow politics outside of the Untied States, but this is a common observation I hear from people in other countries.

George Carlin called it the illusion of choice, and it's obviously a global issue. But try explaining that to a partisan on either side of the aisle, and they treat you like you're crazy.
