There was no longer any contest going on that would have even given Pam the opportunity to compete with JR to see who would win control of Ewing Oil. The scenario they were in by season 9 is both JR and Pam wanted Ewing Oil to prosper for the sake of each of their sons. So again, what would the war have been over and what would the victor have gained?</blockquote>
