Peter Stavros vs Clayton Farlow

Peter Stavros(Falcon Crest) and Clayton Farlow (Dallas) have many similarities.:

They are both powerful men who married their respective show' s matriarch.
-came along when their future wives needed them. For Miss Ellie it was emotionally, for Angela it was to save her from the Rossini's
- strong, old school gentlemen.
- had children with troubled pasts.
-played by actors from Hollywood's Golden Age.
I liked them both. and thought they were great additions to each show. Caesar Romero added a bit of a mischievous aspect to Peter's personality, while Clayton was a more straight laced. Still, they were both wonderful.
Did anyone prefer one over the other?

Didn't see much Falcon Crest, but the winner for me is Caesar Romero
As an actor, CR could play any role, and with panache
Many people know that he was the Joker, but there were SO many other roles.
I really enjoyed Howard Keel in "Calamity Jane"
His pairing with Doris Day was electric.

I have a lot of admiration for Howard Keel but Cesar Romero played his role in Falcon Crest so brilliantly. Whenever he was on screen you couldn't help being drawn to him, You never had the feeling that his was just cruising through the role as he always seemed to be giving 100% in every scene. Peter Stavros was also a more interesting character who was intensely loyal but willing to bend the rules to protect those he loved.
