Someday I will properly compose my thoughts and write “In Defense of Roseanne Season 9.”

I actually unironically like almost everything about season 9 of Roseanne - and not just to be contrarian. Except the Rambo episode. That was just bad.

I'm not sure unironic will work around here but, sure, share your insights with us!

As I've said, I don't mind the Conners winning the lottery particularly, but they needed to both go further with it and yet not as far as they did... And having it be a dream in the end wasn't a good idea.

Like Angelica Nero, flawed though it may be, just own it!

I didn't watch the show much, but I find your idea interesting.
Season 9 is generally not well regarded, I understand.
However, Roseanne did have a good idea, IMHO.
It could explore how wealth changes people.
Since it was the final season, and clearly out of continuity,
the show could take more chances with stories.
Maybe it didn't work as well as it could have, but at least it was
not a rehash of older material, or a tired approach to an aging series.

I look forward to your viewpoint

I just watched Pampered to a Pulp. Obviously it’s not your typical Roseanne episode as it only featured Roseanne and Jackie, and it felt more like a series of sketches rather than a sitcom but it actually made me laugh a fair bit.
I think my problem so far with season 9 has been they’ve had this massive life changing event happen to the family yet the status quo hasn’t been changed. Why would they continue to work in the restaurant and not just sell it to Leon? Why are they still living in the house?
Also less said about the Prince of Moldavia thinking Jackie is his Grace Kelly the better!
I would’ve liked them to explore how the wealth changed everyone. DJ says he’s more popular now but that seems to be it? Let’s explore that with him. Beckys getting some money to go to college so let’s see that? How would that impact her relationship with Mark?
It all just feels very poorly thought out.

Unfortunately Becky is reduced to a glorified extra by season 9. As much as I enjoyed the years of switching Becky jokes, it really took its toll on the character.
