Something that's been bothering me: Sam told Steven he can't provide him with an alibi for Matthew's murder because of his shady past. This doesn't make sense when you consider they were schtupping in one of Atlanta's finest hotels. Steven paid the bill with his credit card and there should be surveillance video from the lobby, hall and elevator. Steven's lawyer should have obtained the video and charge receipts and shown it to the police. Case dismissed.

The cameras don't care how Sammy Jo feels. If it proves he was there then he was there.

There is an explanation: Steven cares how Sammy Jo feels about talking to the police, and therefore he doesn't mention it to his lawyer.

Interesting that Blake mentioned that his mothers name was... Ellen. Yet again a nice throwback.

Good to see that little theme song. I think it's decent enough considering how short todays themes are unless you're a cable show.

We sort of know Cristal's secret? She stole money to escape Caraca, left her sister behind to rot while supposedly taking Sammy Jo with her.

So they gave her one of Alexis (well, Carress) backstories?

I still like it. I mean... what else is there on the air right now in this genre?
So i prefer this than having no family soap at all.
I'm so sick of superhero- or cop-shows, so there's really nothing else left to watch, thanks to the really inventive US-primetime department.
I'm scrolling through all those download pages, and there's really NOTHING else interesting at the moment, so i'm kind of grateful for CW's Dynasty.
Happy for those who like the 27th incarnation of NCIS or CSI or any Marvel/DC-Superhero-Bullshit, i don't.
So i'm glad that my all time favorite show is on the air again, even if just on the CW with all the limits that naturally come with that.
Still better than NO show at all!
And i also hope it gets renewed, because i don't see any other bright light at the boooring, boooring, boooring US-TV coming up anytime soon, they are clearly running out of ideas for ages now with NO change in sight.

I think they just need to get better at faking the opulence. It just doesn't always look like a show about rich people. It needs more of the glitz, more flowers, blingy things and to never ever EVER film that house like the 80s party. Sally Patrick worked on Revenge she should know how to do that.

I actually liked #3. It had a lot of character development and some nice, touching moments.
And those weren't more childish than originals S4 through 8, so i'm okay with that.
I really like this new Dynasty, and i love how they gave us the new intro (which they didn't have to) and all those little reminders of the original.
Okay, it's not perfect, but why must we trash it? Let's be honest ... in these times, Generation Twitter and stuff... was there any other way to bring it back?
I decided that i will fully support nuDynasty from now on, we won't get anything better, people!
Dynasty's back on the air again folks, we are fans, so let's support it! This Dynasty is better than no Dynasty at all!

I liked the first two episodes. I thought the third was really really bad. I will hang around and hope it improves but if something is really shit I'm not going to watch.

I confess I haven't watched THE CW Dynasty though it is now available on Netflix Australia. But sloppy writing like you've mentioned really irritates me. Over the years we've been spoilt with far too many cop shows to quickly figure out nonsense like you mention. Viewers today are a lot more savvy than what TV Executives/Producers/Writers sometimes gives us credit for.

You can see the Opening up there if you missed the episode. Apparently the theme "wasn´t ready" for the Pilot...

Are you kidding me? That horrid intro wasn't ready for the pilot? I'm sorry but that intro is plain awful. Actually it is atrocious and should be pulled. It sounds like it has been created on some kids unwanted Christmas toy. The intro to TNT Dallas wasn't quite up to standard - until corrected by season 3 with the three-way split - but at least it partially honored the original.

So somehwat disappointed in these three episodes in, but kind of happy that we have a theme now- though the opening credits are nearly identical to the cheese you get from the opening of Young and the Restless.

Are you really comparing that.... to the iconic Y&R intro????????????????????????????????????? Cut your fingers off.

It looks like the writers are having a ball with the references to OldDynasty.
"Make sure there's plenty of Ostatrova" - the kind of caviar Dominique never ate. Incidentally, it should be Osetrova, but since Dynasty had its own Moldavia, why not its own caviar?
So, apparently they've watched the show. OK, I get it now.
Personally, I prefer a "mistake", like the Cattle Baron's Ball, because, you know, "she didn't even watch Dallas!"
But it felt like Dallas, and that's more important than churning out all kinds of trivia.

I'm particularly interested in Blake and Jeff's falling-out, but it could have a little more "meat". Obviously Blake feels betrayed, but I want him to feel very betrayed, if they want me to buy into that feud. The push & punch looked whimsical, just one collective gasp from the other guests and that was it. Where is that Carrington hatred, and the violence?
"Get out of my house!". He said it again. And that has to be the funniest (but probably unintentional) reference to OldDynasty, because Blake and Alexis said it all the time.
Loved Cristal's big curly hairdo, she should keep it that way.

I actually liked the father/children "love fest" scenes, I don't think it looked very sappy and for a few moments they didn't act like a bunch of strangers living in the same house.
"All I need is my Carrington blood to conquer the world". And that's how you put the Carrington name back on the map. One of her better scenes imo, she's too loud and hyper most of the times.

The 80s party soundtrack was a bit random, they could have played with that to emphasize...something. My choice would have been "Relax" by FGTH.
Or the SINS intro song "It's Hard To Be Tender" by Carly Simon.

Or the timeless staple, "Everybody Wants To Rule The World," if this show actually possessed the fatalistic beauty to carry that song without the daftness of utter cliche. Hmmph.

Actually, there's tons of better soaps on.

Queen Sugar is one of the best family dramas ever. Greenleaf is nowhere near as good as QS, but it's head, shoulders, and ankles above nuDynasty. I checked out of Empire long ago, but it's also better.

Krystle's skeletons are weak. How is this something Blake couldn't have easily figured out? They should've gone ahead and made her trans. It'd be powerful and subversive, the way "Steven Is Gay" was supposed to be.
