Really? I mean I thought this was obvious the minute it leaked that Monica was now "Monique". It was more a question about HOW they were related. Still being half-siblings is a nice twist though. Thought Blake was going to be her dad.

Was it obvious, though? I simply thought they changed Monica's name to make it come across more black, along the lines of Krystle becoming Cristal to reflect her being a Latina now. But, good for you regardless.

I thought it went in reverse--that she was being called "Monique" in pre-publicity and in the pilot, then characters started calling her "Monica" in subsequent episodes. And I thought they only did this as a nod to the 'other' Monica Colby from the original. The shift away from Monique could have been an effort on the writers' part to keep us from making the Monique/Dominique paternity leap so easily.
