Note: It is pouring down rain (plus thunder, lightning) outside as I write this. Fingers crossed the lights or the cable signal don't fail me and leave me with a cliffhanger.
Indeed, they skipped two weeks ahead. Kirby's okay after a brief coma (!!), but now Sam and Fallon have to tell her about Anders. She moves back to the mansion and immediately starts talking about getting another modeling job--namely, the Design Institute Ball. She's not really processing the news about Anders, but Fallon says Kirby needs her friends and family around her more than therapy. Sam does not agree, but since when does Fallon listen to anybody? To get Kirby into the model line-up, Fallon has to call in a favor with some snooty lady named Paloma who insists that Fallon hire the woman's daughter at Fallon Unlimited.
Cristal and her post-surgery, full head of hair seems to be cancer-free. Since no good deed goes unpunished, the hospital is NOT happy with Adam's stunt(s) that got Cristal her brain surgery. One more stunt like that, he's told, and he's going to be fired. Undeterred, Adam is looking into an Alzheimer's drug that might have anti-aging properties. What next? A cure for car accidents? Oooohhhhh....He actually turns down an offer from Blake (to work for the airline) in order to stick with the research at the hospital.
Dom is disappointed with the low sales of her clothing line. Jeff tells her to be patient. Has he MET his mother? Jeff is having meetings with some guy to discuss more eco-friendly jet fuel or something, but we get a National Weather Service interruption telling me it's raining and I can't hear what Jeff's main plan is.
Sam and Culhane theorize that perhaps Leo and his goons will leave them alone once the construction is finished. This pipe dream is interrupted by the discovery of what looks like a great big box of cocaine just lying around . The two hurriedly try to come up with a way to ditch it. It won't flush down the toilet (Sam tries). Won't these people be kind of....I dunno UPSET that you're trying to get rid of their rather expensive box of drugs? Better hide it from Kirby!
Jeff sees the man he just met with (Karoche?) meeting with Jameson, the man he met with last week. In order to get Karoche on board, they have a duel. No, not a Highlander-style battle to the death, but a fencing match with white coats and visors. Jeff loses the duel. After the ball, Jeff tells Dominique he wants to build a manned rocket and go to outer space to explore for minerals and stuff, and she is surprisingly supportive of his plans. She tells him to reconnect with the guy and explain the extent of what Jeff has planned, and perhaps this guy will share that dream. Turns out he does.
Kirby finally melts down backstage at the ball and complains that she never got to say good-bye to her father. Sam and Fallon take Kirby home and put her to bed. Sam points out Fallon hasn't really dealt with Anders's death, either. Fallon later finds an old note Anders left her and it makes her cry. Too bad she can't seem to find her husband, who is oddly missing from the episode as she went to a ball without a date. Anyway, the next morning Fallon confesses to Kirby that she wanted Kirby to be okay so she (Fallon) could be okay too. They go out to the cemetery to reminisce, where they show Ghost Anders is nearby, telling Kirby that grief is a wasted emotion. They certainly got that tombstone carved and placed quickly.
Turns out the "box of cocaine" was actually cassava flour for the hotel restaurant. S&C decide they have to get rid of this Leo guy and all the trouble he brought.
In the preview, Sam goes to Blake for advice on "being ruthless".
