Fallon meets with Jeff for a progress report on Fallon Unlimited. He has put in a bid on MorrellCorp, the energy company he and Fallon founded in S1 which is currently owned by a holding company, Toro. Fallon thinks it's a great idea, but is not so pleased to learn the CEO of Toro is....Patricia DeVilbis. Turns out Patricia also has a past with Jeff (they all were in high school together). In fact, she only took this meeting to catch up with Jeff...and to invite them to a party she's throwing.
Sam is not willing to believe Daniel is his real father until the DNA tests come back. Frankly I'm just amazed that they went straight to the DNA tests rather than drag it out like all these other mistaken paternity plots on soaps. Kirby and Amanda are present when the results come in (no Maury Povich, thank goodness). Later, Sam calls Daniel over, where Daniel explains he loved Iris but Iris chose to stay with her husband. He saw Sam with Iris about five years later and figured out Sam must be his son. Sam isn't sure he wants to explore a relationship with Daniel after all these years because if Daniel had just come forward, maybe Sam would have avoided years of abuse from Alejandro.
Kirby wants to go back to modeling, but can't get a decent agent to take a chance on her since her drug overdose is well-known. Sam helps her get an agent who is willing to give her a second chance.
Plans to shoot some of the movie scenes at LaGarbage are not going well, since they already have a wedding booked on the shoot date. Liam cons the bride by donning a fireman's outfit and telling her they exceed the fire code. The bride is thrilled she can now trim some of the in-laws from the guest list, and wonders if the fireman does bachelorette parties. Liam suggests Culhane should be a producer on the film, since he needs a "new adventure".
Fallon goes to Cristal (whom she says is the closest thing to a moral person in the family) for advice on bringing someone down with morals. Or is it bring someone with morals down? Fallon claims she can't find any good dirt on Patricia; Rita-as-Cristal reassures her everyone has something they want to keep secret. Fallon notes their conversation is unlike any she's ever had with Cristal. Fallon also knocks Rita off her game momentarily when makes a comment about some jewelry that "Fake Cristal" wore (referring to Celia). So in one episode we get Morrell Corp, Iris, and Celia mentions. Very nice. Sam then asks Cristal to do "that massage trick" that she always does for him, since he's all knotted up over Daniel. She screws that up badly, and he's left wondering why she was so rude.
Rita offers Blake a poisoned martini, but he isn't interested. When he offers up the paperwork to ditch Flores Inc. she gives him a huge kiss and knocks over the martini. Back at Cristal's Hideaway, Beto has Cristal in a new, nicer dress but still tied up. He says the deal is almost done and repeats the plan to call in a tip to get her rescued once he gets back to Mexico. Cristal manages to get a lighter off Beto in "one final hug" and starts working on the ropes.
Patricia's daddy, Peter, has apparently been using MorrellCorp as a sort of laundering operation for the buying and selling of petroleum, wrapping the company in a lot of "green energy" mumbo-jumbo while secretly dirtying the environment (or something like that). When Jeff and Fallon uncover the truth via some hacking into panels on the MorrellCorp building's rooftop, Fallon declares she will blow the lid off their scheme. She forces Jeff to go flirt with Patricia so Fallon can head downstairs to Peter, who is creepy and flirty as he talks about what a failure and disappointment his daughter is. Fallon actually feels sorry for Patricia while Peter continues being disgusting. Meanwhile, Patricia is trying to impress Jeff by saying SHE is the one rigging the grid (whatever that means) because her father wouldn't even know how to do it. Jeff is recording her every word and wants to nail Patricia. So Fallon wants to offer her compassion while Jeff wants to nail her. Fallon asks "Is this Freaky Friday or what?"
The recording is played in front of the whole party crowd, and Fallon tells Peter she will take the company off his hands. Jeff says it had to be done, and while Fallon agrees, she doesn't feel very good about it. To assuage her guilt, Fallon offers Patricia a job at Fallon Unlimited. Instead, Patricia vows revenge.
Rita shows up with a can of gasoline, planning to burn down the place with Cristal in it. She says Cristal 3.0 is ready to take over. Or is it 4? She's lost track. Cristal jumps up and the two start to fight to "Good Bye to You" playing in the background. Just as things get really good....Blake bursts in! He's noticed some inconsistencies with "Cristal's" behavior and followed her...but he certainly did not expect THIS! After a few good questions, the Real Cristal is revealed and she leaps into Blake's arms. The next morning Blake tells RealCristal that the Flores papers were dummied up, and that the authorities will catch up to Beto. He offers her another, even bigger wedding ring since "that woman" had worn it.
But where did Rita go? What did I miss?
