Scandal Season 6 Episode 16 Transfer of Power (Season 6 Spoilers)

This season has been crazy. A lot of the plot hasn't really made sense to me, but because of the fast pace, I could kind of roll along with it and mostly enjoy the ride . . . until the finale. What a ridiculous way to wrap up the season. The twist that it was Luna and Cyrus behind everything is preposterous. There are so many plot holes. (I don't expect much from Scandal, but even for this show there are a lot of plot holes with this revelation.) It doesn't make sense AT ALL. So Cyrus plotted all this so he could be Vice President? But he was Vice President when Vargas was elected. Luna wanted to be VP? But then her organization demanded that Mellie make Peaus VP. Those are just two out of a million things that don't add up with this twist.

It makes absolutely no sense and has to be one of the most head-scratchingly dumb finales I've ever watched.

Also, I'm still pissed they needlessly killed of Liz.

This comment from someone on a site reviewing the finale pretty much sums up how stupid this twist was:

so Luna was like "I wanna be president and the best way to do it is to hire Samantha and Paeus to have Rowan rig the election, but I'll assume Olivia will stop them and then they'll be forced to kill my husband, but we'll pin that on Cyrus so then Mellie can become president and then I know Mellie will offer the VP position to Cyrus, but he'll reject it and then, randomly, even though I've never spoken to Mellie, she will offer me the VP position and I'll have Paeus bomb cities across the country because...Mellie made me VP instead of him even though I hired him, but whatever because THEN i will have Mellie killed and become president"
