When they say adjacent, they mean the land across the street?
And was the land owned by the Southfork owners? Or someone else who has now decided to develop it?
I visited Southfork a few months ago, it was very quiet (which I loved as a fan who wanted to enjoy the grounds although is worrisome from a financial standpoint) even with the housing developments close by.

It's a real shame this latest development will encroach on Southfork. It makes any potential continuation look silly when it can no longer be referred to as a ranch. I understand television can be produced with trickery but most of us have access to Google Earth by now...surely.

It’s sad but unfortunately it’s not very surprising in this day and age. Population keeps growing, we keep building, all part of life. Personally I think the entire ranch should never be touched or changed in any way but at least in a few years there will be people able to say they live where a great TV Show was once filmed. Maybe most of them, especially the younger ones, won’t even know what Dallas was but all it takes is one late night google search to find out you now live in what is a very famous place.

I smell an idea for a spinoff - “Southfork Landing,” focusing on four couples who live on a cul-de-sac in the new development on Southfork.
Excellent idea. Perhaps one of the couples could have a few teenagers and they jump the Southfork Ranch fence to take a dip in the swimming pool...only to be confronted by a drunk Sue Ellen. This new series has potential.
