Look who's back: Spitting Image returns for our chaotic times
Today’s world does seem to have an especially large number of evil goofballs who deserve taking down

The world has really gone mad. It's the perfect time for it to return.

But is it possible to parody and caricature madness?

Roger Law covers this question in the article:

Mocking Trump, [Law] conceded, was a challenge. “I’ve heard other satirists say that he’s un-satirisable because he’s a satire in himself. Well, with puppets you can go much, much further, because actors won’t do that for you. And by Christ, we are going to give it a go.” Their puppet Trump, he said, was “an absolute monster”

Of course, Spitting Image was doing it decades ago...

i alwats thought Spitting image had about 7 mins of good clips in 30 mins of crap

But i did love the Queen Mum and her love of gin and nothing will ever top the Tory sketch when a waiter asked Mrs Thatcher out with the cabinet for Dinner

What about the vegetables ?

and she says They will have the same! loved that one

i hope they do an annoying, irritating little Jimmy krankie ie mz Sturgeon

I remember Nick Pearce told that joke on Dallas @Barbara Fan :lmao:

I loved Spitting Image - John Cole was absolutely a favourite in our house and I think Ian Paisley had one too. The Queen and The Duke were brilliant and I remember Ronald Reagan pushing this big red button to see what it was. It ended the world :Clol:

Im sure it was spitting image who had Ian Paisley in the church pulpit and when he opened his mouth and said very loudly "the people of Ulster..." all the hats blew off in the congregation
that always made me chuckle

The new series of Spitting Image starts on Brit Box on 3 October. I am really excited as I love shows like this and am looking forward to some of the new puppets. They look amazing.

Spitting Image was last on TV in 1996. I'm not expecting it to be as risque as it was back in the day! But it should be good fun to see who has a puppet.
