The Good Fight

I watched the first two episodes this evening and absolutely loved it. Christine Baranski is amazing as always. Rose Leslie as Maia is very likable and seems to be a character worth rooting for. She seems to be in the Alicia role in this--innocent bystander in the middle of a huge scandal and newbie lawyer--but is a much different character to Alicia in temperament and personality. She's also much younger than Alicia, so while she finds herself in a somewhat similar predicament to Alicia at the beginning of the parent show, it's all different enough not to be repetitive. Plus, the scandal at the center of The Good Fight also drags down Diane.

Episode two seems to be more indicative of what the series in general is going to be like and it was fun to see some familiar judges and opposing counsel, and Marissa is back in episode two!

Also, you can never go wrong with Bernadette Peters. :)

The first two episodes are out now on CBS All Access and subsequent episodes will be released every Sunday. Lots of f-bombs thanks to the online nature of the series.

That's great news. I've really enjoyed the episodes that have aired so far. I miss Alicia and Cary, but it's great to have Marissa and Diane to watch every week. The latest episode with the Trump angle was fun.

I devoured the first three episodes last night, they went down so well. It reminded me why TGW was my favourite show of recent years.

A 22 episode show seems too much these days but 10 episodes of THE GOODverse just isn't enough.

Oh, and Diane dropping the f-bomb on learning
that she's lost her retirement fund
may just be the highlight of all 8 Seasons so far.

And as for the flashes of skin...

Season 2 concluded last night.

(We're lucky enough to have it on broadcast TV here.)

They continue to do a great job of walking the fine line between continuing The Good Wife and being their own thing.

I'm not sure if it's my imagination but I seem to see a little of Alicia in Lucca. Not that she's copying here but just enough in her courtroom demeanour to remind you that Alicia was her mentor.

Binged the last half of season 1. This series is both funny & exciting. Very good mix of everything. The main characters are worthy to root for. There are some excellent guests in good parts. All in all, it's a feel-good series that deals with anything but feel-good topics. I will probably binge season 2 as well.
