Olivier always seemed insistent on Leigh&#039;s doing more stage work, probably because that&#039;s where the &quot;serious&quot; actors and actresses worked. It&#039;s a shame too: not saying her stage work was inferior, but it&#039;s not on celluloid, so therefore we haven&#039;t anyway to revisit it. I wish she had made more films, especially in her heyday. She was beautiful and a good actress, but her filmography is so short. 

I actually liked THE ROMAN SPRING OF MRS. STONE the one time I saw it a few years ago. I thought she and young Warren Beatty played off each other well. Of course, my opinions may have changed since then (as I&#039;m sure they have), but that&#039;s my consensus as of now.</blockquote>
