As I said in that other thread, I always wanted Sammy Jo to become pregnant by Prince Michael and, under orders of Alexis to end the relationship in S7, he has Sammy Jo kidnapped and their fetus force-aborted. Of course she's scraped barren and can no longer have any children, making her even more possessive of Danny.
Then, during Ye Olde Anglo Faaiyyyrrre early in S8, Sammy Jo rebuffs the prince's advances by pushing him -- accidentally -- into a lion's cage where his face is ripped off and he dies. An event witnessed only by Alexis, who now has the chance to flip the blackmail dynamic in place ever since Sammy Jo witnessed Alexis shove Claudia away from her on some Denver (or European) street corner -- accidentally -- when Claudia confronts her over Alexis' framing somebody (in Europe or maybe Hong Kong) for murder. So Claudia is in a wheelchair when she starts the La Mirage fire -- accidentally -- and that's why she's logically unable to escape and perishes in the flames.
Elena having an affair with Adam is okay by me. But I want Sammy Jo involved with Adam off and on, as I'd like them together.
In S8, I'd have Alexis secretly bankroll Sammy Jo's movie career to get her out of Denver and away from Alexis' sons. And when Sammy Jo begins to become a bit of an indie film darling and is nominated for an award, Alexis' released Sammy Jo's old porno flicks, writes the scandal up in her tabloid the day of the awards TV broadcast, and even bribes an attendant to hand Sammy Jo a reality-altering cocktail before she goes out on stage to make her Walk of Shame and accept the statue, the boos and hisses sending her into a
Lonely Lady style meltdown on-camera during the ceremony (which, up until lately, sounded like fiction, Heather!). The resulting scandal sends Blake and Krystle into damage control mode during his gubernatorial campaign.
Because I like the idea of Ricardo Montalban as the King of Moldavia, I think I'd conflate the King with Zach Powers and make them the same character, so, once deposed from the throne and following The Colbys having spent several weeks on the parent series, he would spin off to California with them. (I would have he and Alexis spend maybe three episodes as the rulers of Moldavia mid-S6 before a reverse-reverse coup occurs and they're shipped back to Colorado, their royal tails between their legs, Alexis' brief tenure on the throne roughly concurrent with Krystle's shortened time in the Delta Rho attic).
Off to the THE COLBYS for a year, I'd have King Zach plotting yet another coup d'état near the end of S7, His Highness slipping he and Alexis into an obscure corner of Moldavia to reveal to her a massive treasure buried at the bottom of a cavern he intends to use to fund his latest overthrow of the rebels which are now controlling his little European principality. (I arrived at this idea before Paulsen placed buried treasure under the Carrington estate in S9, so I'm happy for it all to have originated with the Nazis after WW2, so interconnected these families are). Smelling a scam, Alexis begs off, but their conversations are recorded and a team of assassins are sent out to, just possibly, facilitate that avalanche cliffhanger they'd planned to close S7 with while the Carringtons and the Fallmonts are having Adam's and Dana's reception near the summit of Scorpio Peak which Blake had finally acquired a year or so before).
I also want Dame Judith Anderson in there somewhere -- is there a way to make her the Moldavian queen mother, Jason Colby's aunt,
and a Fallmont relative at the same time? In which case, Barbara Stanwyck, who must be at loggerheads whenever she and Anderson appear in the same production, may have had a secret role in funding the coup in Moldavia...??
I'd have Alexis thrown out from the mansion after the first dozen episodes of S7, but for far better reason than the flimsy stuff they did. She'd be besieged by several Carringtons in that library during the Black & White Ball with blackmailable date, not least is Sammy Jo's witnessing of Alexis accidentally pushing Claudia into that intersection months earlier.
Following her amnesiacal shacking up with Blake in Singapore, Alexis would continue taunting Krystle with the assertions that she slept with him, driving Krystle to a subtly-played spate of alcoholism, made worse by Blake's gentle defense of Alexis one or twice. This leads Alexis to assert she's going to have his change-of-life baby, a charge eradicated after she claims the avalanche caused her miscarriage. (We'd never be totally sure she was lying).
Cassie Yates would attempt suicide in the Carrington garages (as opposed to her sublet) and Kwysthteeeena would be fine, but the incident would dredge up tabloid memories (encouraged by Alexis behind the scenes) of a troubled Marilyn Monroe-type starlet with whom Blake had had a brief dalliance in the months after his separation from Alexis and who'd died of an overdose in the guest suite behind those garages, a death which had set tongues whispering about "foul play" and Blake back in the autumn of 1964. But we'd find out -- only minutes before the avalanche struck? -- that Emily Fallmont had become aware in '64 that her husband, Buck Fallmont, had been having an affair with the starlet, so Emily showed up late one night at the Carringtons' guest house with the starlet's doctor, demanded the vulnerable girl get out of Denver or else, had the physician deliver a hypodermic when the bipolar actress predictably became irate, and then Emily and the doctor left, unaware the starlet was already full of pills, thus facilitating inadvertently her death. And someone in the present (Alexis, who learned the details from the children of the doctor long-expired??) knows about the event and has been attempting blackmail of the political Fallmont family... Now that's a lot more scandalous, even in 1987, than a mere out-of-wedlock baby the writers tried to shock us with.
And speaking of that baby, I'd have Leslie connected to Caress in some way. I've always liked the idea that Caress had been paid to raise the girl by Ben and Emily, with Alexis learning of the arrangement and threatening to publicly expose the situation if they didn't cease payment immediately and thus denying her sister an income. But nearly all are unaware (as we'd possibly learn in S10, had Caress, missing and assumed dead, reemerged as the lady in the limo at the close of S9) that when Caress left Denver in winter-'64/'65 with Emily's baby, Caress herself was pregnant with her own daughter via Roger Grimes (who'd promised to marry her until Alexis seduced him away, Caress vengefully revealing to Blake when and where to find Alexis and Roger together that previous summer) but only a few weeks after arriving in an isolated little English hamlet to raise tiny Leslie, a child she told inquiring neighbors was sired by her recently dead husband in the States, Caress stumbles down the stairs with the doomed infant, buries the remains in the back yard under cover of night, and promptly gives birth to her own baby whom she passes off as Ben and Emily's offspring for the next 25 years. And there's a hint she's abusive, probably because Leslie was a reminder of her catastrophic romance with Roger.
I'd like to see Bette Davis, as Sable and Frankie's mother, Agatha Scott (as
@Willie Oleson brilliantly named her) make a single episode appearance in late-S6 in search of her daughters in Denver, unaware that the Colbys were already back in L.A.; Agatha has a friendly drink with Blake & Krystle in the library, has a catty and smoke-filled scene with Alexis at Colbyco, chats on the phone to Sabella in California to tell her she's on her way, and then -- quite ominously -- hands over a packet of stuff to her niece Caress, before leaving town.
We're never told what's in it, until S10 when we learn it contained information about The Collection and Colterton which is how Caress, quite off-camera, had pulled Sable into the clandestine search for it once Jason so cruelly divorced her.
I want Emma Samms as a Fallmont, not Fallon (and just tell Huson & Bast to work it out) which allows PSM to return for S8.
I want a multi-episode Christmas blizzard story arc for S8, the cast landlocked with stock footage of Denver in the snow. I also want Blake's ex-fiancée ("Opal"?) whom Alexis pushed aside in the mid-'50s, now a high-powered political widow who acts as Blake's mentor and whom Krystle likes and respects. Following the assassination attempt and Opal is killed, Blake's spies later learn that Opal was terminally ill with pancreatic cancer, and had the shooting of herself and Alexis planned out, she may have had a peripheral role in the massacre in Moldavia (which got out of hand), and may have used Joseph's maniacal son, Sean, as the gunman in the assassination attempt, who is also killed on site by police security.
I'm quite serious about Krystle's headaches resulting in snatches of clairvoyance and psychic healing, played absolutely straight; she graces her friends and relatives with her skills back in Dayton while Blake and Alexis are in Natumbe and much too friendly, the story of Krystle's newfound talents working their way into the snickering Colorado newspapers and further compromising Blake's campaign for governor.
Season 9 would require very few changes, if any.
Yes, I really want the crystal skull storyline for S10, Adam appropriating it for his mother who then keeps it in a black, velvet box at the center of her wet bar, where it glows a faint green, a glow which seems to get brighter after she accidentally drops it and the skull develops a tiny fissure as a result.
Plus, she's afraid her mother, inexplicably popular with the barons on the Continent, may have had an affair with Hitler, the ghastly union possibly producing a child.
Blake's legal troubles see him in and out of prison through-out Season 10, made worse by the reputation-damaging revelations about The Collection once it becomes public news and Blake attempts to return it to its rightful European owners. As Blake's empire is being dismantled, and Alexis becomes concerned for her safety as Dennis Grimes continues pursuing her, she moves in to the mansion temporarily and assists Sable and Caress in their preparations for the auction of the mansion's contents. At some point over a late dinner, a lot comes out between the three women, especially regarding how many of their children Roger Grimes may have fathered 25 or 30 years ago when he was working on the mansion's re-construction. Drunk and alone in the mansion's ballroom, and carrying a ladylike derringer Adam gave her for protection in her nightgown pocket, Alexis witnesses Dennis Grimes quietly break the glass in one of the French doors, she pulls the derringer and tells him to stop, he reaches for a gun in his jacket, she steps forward and trips over the leg of a chaise lounge, and the derringer hits the floor and fires, striking the younger Grimes in the middle of the forehead, killing him instantly. Hysterical and inebriated, Alexis struggles to wrap up Dennis' body into the nearest Persian rug, until the reflection of a pair of lovely legs appear in the nearby French door and the chandelier lights go on, and it's --- Krystle, who looks like she just got off a cruise ship, quietly shocked by what she's just walked in on.
Soused on wine and psychotropic drugs, respectively, a screeching Alexis manages to convince a contemptuous-yet-addled Krystle that Blake will lose everything and go to prison, and that they'll never see Kwysthteeeena again, if Krystle doesn't help Alexis dispose of the body, the two women, now partners in crime, driving out to Delta Rho and dumping Dennis' remains into that same lake where his father came floating up out of two years earlier. Only upon return to the house, Alexis discovers Caress witnessed much of what occurred and intends on blackmailing her big sister with it.
While Blake and the family find success, thanks to Adam's testimony in Washington and Denver courtrooms, Caress and Sable return from a quick fact-finding excursion in Europe to an empty mansion late at night -- empty except for an elderly woman in the corner of Caress' room in a wheelchair with a revolver who demands Sable and Caress turn over the crystal skull they know nothing about but which is accompanying Alexis on her jet back to London where she'll be for the forseeable future.
And just who was this old woman? Caress seems to know, but Sable does not. And in their efforts to escape this creepy and homicidal dowager, they're shot and in their falls knock over sconces which set the mansion ablaze. Blake, along with Krystle and Jeff en route to the mansion from downtown Denver, read a letter penned by Caress which reveals all, communicates her concern that Adam is now in mortal danger for exposing the consortium which had been attempting to ruin Blake and obtain The Collection, and expresses her fear that she herself might not live to see him again. They arrive to find the Carrington house in flames.
