There sure is a lot of haters for the Dallas TNT continuation.

I feel like I'm the only one of few who enjoyed it and wanted a season 4. All I get is mostly negative responses saying they are glad it's off the air.

I really enjoyed it for what it was and was disappointed it was cancelled.

Then I moved on to other shows.

From what I have read it's more about members discussing how bad they felt the show was, not forgetting how quickly the viewing figures dropped. Sure there are many who wanted it cancelled, but so what, that's their opinion.

You appear to be the one with very negative opinions about TNT, yet don't understand that those who tuned out of DALLAS was because of the writing/direction and nothing to do with TNT.

For what it's worth, I absolutely loved New Dallas and haven't really gotten over the fact that it was cancelled. But hey, forty episodes is a lot better than nothing.
I wouldn't say I loved it but I did enjoy it while it lasted. The continuity changes were annoying and unnecessary but I don't feel it deserves the vitriol that some heap on it.

Yep. Dallas vintage 1980s was better than 2010s, but I watched the CBS version through 1991 and had 21st century Dallas been renewed, I would have continued to watch. As for now, I quote Larry Hagman, "The bloom is off the rose".

The writing was generally too sloppy and inconsistent for my liking, there were too many continuity issues, and there were few cohesive storylines. I can list a handful of scenes I thought were done well, but I cannot point to a single consistently good season or storyline. The show rarely felt like the Dallas I knew and loved, and when it did, they would quickly revert back to their usual shock value cliffhangers and crime plots.

The new Dallas is unique in that many of its viewers were fans of the original series. Had I not been an original Dallas fan, I never would have given the new series a second thought. The only reason I continued watching and had discussions about it is because of my love for the original show. I respect the fact that some people love new Dallas, but you can't expect it to be everybody's cup of tea. It was quite different from the original, and often felt nothing like it at all.

They deviated way too far from the core elements of Dallas ie the family element, instead bringing us silly character and storylines (the whole Mexican caper was terrible).

I was looking so forward to the continuation when it was first advertised and liked the first Season and half of the second Season but then it went downhill to crap. Inconsistent and silly storylines, deceiving the viewers about a Pam/VP return, not using more of the original cast, the stupid mob/cartel story, making Cliff Barnes into a evil person, having Bobby showing no emotion after hearing about
Pam's death and not making it more about the Ewing family. In the end I wished they had never revived it.

I liked a lot of it - even some of the drug cartel and crime stuff. But to me 1) I had problems with their disloyalty to the original and 2) the fact that they just jump around so much I never got to love any of it.
