I'm just quite disappointed that Lynch got his 18 episodes and makes amlost NO use of the beloved characters, that made Twin Peaks so great.
Most of them had just a "blink-and-miss" cameo and that was it. Why is Julee Cruise not singing at the Roadhouse? Why using other singers there that noone cares about and that have absolutely NO connection to the show?
The show was heavily promoted with the old cast with videos and magazine covers, yet almost none of that really happened so far. #fakenews
Even Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey) will have just a very tiny part, as she's been booked for just ONE SINGLE DAY to shoot according to her Twitter feed of that time.
We are 8 episodes in now and what has happened so far could be easily cut down to ONE single episode.
The show is called Twin Peaks and so far nothing of relevance did happen in Twin Peaks apart from Hawk finding 2 more pages of Lauras diary at the police station toilet.
Just hope the 2nd part of that season gets better, because it's really tiring to see Lynch trying to squeeze all those time consuming references to his other projects and movies (that he obviously cares much more about) into this and using the show and it's fans for that. Last episode was 100% pure Eraserhead - but certainly not Twin Peaks.
So far we had more Mulholland Drive, Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, Lost Highway and Wild at heart than Twin Peaks.
I want to see more of the Log Lady, Audrey, Sarah Palmer, Ed & Nadine, Norma, Shelly and James. But PLEASE not as stupid scenes that Andy and Lucy or Dr. Jacoby had so far, as those were very out of character and quite useless if not completly rubbish.
And it's really about time after half of the run, that the leading character aka real Agent Cooper finally makes an entrance now that Evil Coop has (hopefully) died, as i've seen Kyle McLachlan in more than enough other roles there by now.
So far it sadly seems that Lynch is simply not able to write any good scenes for the characters that made Twin Peaks great.
