[QUOTE="Daniel Avery, post: 431177, member: 27"] In the wake of the death of a major character, the writers have to come up with some kind of distraction, something story-wise that keeps everyone from just sitting around mourning their loss. Having Ronnie pop up and Tracy being so rotten to her is a textbook example of distracting the viewers and/or changing the subject away from Monica's death temporarily--long enough for the viewer to get past the loss of Monica and move on to other stories for her family. I'm sure the animosity will all be resolved with Tracy acknowledging the misdirection of her grief over Monica into single-minded anger toward Ronnie---but not until they're ready to close out the Ronnie arc and send her back to Durham. By then Tracy will be able to move onto the next chapter of her life---hopefully with her back in the Q mansion where she belongs. I'm sure Rocco and Charlotte will be counting the minutes... I think they enjoy "winding Tracy up" and aiming her at people periodically because they don't want Tracy's recent "matriarch" behavior to be perceived as her "softening in her old age". As soon as she shows everyone her soft side, the writers feel obligated to let "Mean Tracy" out to play. And of course JE can turn it all on and off at will, occasionally within the same scene.
