I may be wrong, but I think she didn't jump, but was sort of pushed. They had nothing substantial for Lauren to do on Y&R, so she was written off to B&B because the character had so much more potential there. They similarly wrote Eileen Davidson's Ashley over there because Y&R was not able to drum up storylines for her. TB's Lauren not only got to mix it up with Sheila, but was involved in Forrester family stuff during her time there. They likely have been avoiding discussion of Sheila in the Y&R scripts because they (the Y&R writers) have no control over what the B&B writers write for Sheila. On Y&R, there was that entire ridiculous plotline with Sheila getting plastic surgery to look like Phyllis, the long-lost twins Sheila gave birth to, and all sorts of plots best left forgotten. Y&R saying nothing about Sheila's status would be akin to Knots Landing not mentioning Bobby Ewing was alive on Dallas. The writers of the two shows could obviously sit down and do some coordinating of schedules if they wanted to do another L/S crossover, and might actually be doing that in secret. But we won't know until we get closer to the Y&R anniversary. Back when Y&R attempted to re-introduce the character of Lauren's older son Scotty, they seemed to be setting it up as Scotty (now "Scott") being gay. Unfortunately the actor they hired was not very good at....well, acting, which led the show to cut the story short and fire the actor. Scotty's been basically forgotten ever since.
