I often watch this as part of a shark film jag and it&#039;s a nice change to watch it independently where it holds up on its own merits (I haven&#039;t even watched Jaws this year). It&#039;s a really well-made film, with documentary-like realism which adds to the increasing feeling of anxiety, panic and disorientation.

I&#039;ve never found the main characters likeable and I think may be intentional as it adds a satisfying layer of schadenfreude on seeing this entitled, self-centred couple stuck in the middle of the ocean with only one another. This time round I found them a little more likeable, helped by the fact I watched it with the actors&#039; audio commentary.
