Word on the street is that the DNC is planning to replace Joe Biden as the 2024 nominee for president, due to his obvious dementia and the increasing difficulty in hiding it (he may have taken a D-Day dump at Normandy this month which had to be kept a secret). And his support of Bibi's slaughter in Gaza is unpopular with the Democratic voters (unlike the politicians in both parties, which continue to deny the ethnic cleansing, rationalizing it as Israel's "right to defend itself" in it "war with Hamas," as does the mainstream media).

But they're waiting for him to be officially nominated at the Democratic convention so that, at that point, he can be replaced as the nominee by the DNC elites, and so the voters will have no choice in it at that point. (Which is why no one has been allowed as a serious challenger to the nomination going into the convention).

So, if this happens, who will it be? Who will the DNC put in Biden's place?

Kamala Harris has terrible poll numbers; she's seen as corrupt and flaky.

Some see Gavin Newsome, governor of California, as being groomed for the role -- but he's slimy and his state is a complete wreck.

But guess who showed up at Sunday night's Tony Awards unannounced:

Hillary Clinton quips about losing 2016 election at Tony Awards — but joke falls flat #shorts - YouTube

I know she's horrible, and if anybody drops The Big One it'll be a Cancer Rising like her, but sheer perversity compels me to want to see her in the White House -- the pseudo-liberal uber-bitch of our time.

I just need the entertainment of it. Although that will make me partially responsible for the millions she'll wind up eradicating -- and I'm already feeling guilty over it.

If I had a crystal ball to look into the future (no Kyle Kulinski puns there) I'd say Maryland Gov. Wes Moore in 2028. The chances of Biden leaving as nominee this year are as much as Trump leaving as Republican nominee.

It wouldn't be Biden's choice -- he's so out-of-it that they can't really obscure it anymore. It's just too obvious. And they know they have to do something, like it or not. And soon.

I feel like every election there are rumors about how the incumbent is going to be replaced at the last minute by a 'better' candidate and it never happens. At this point, I think Biden could be a literal corpse and they'd just lug him around WEEKEND AT BERNIE'S-style.

It is different this time. Yes, some would indeed run Biden's corpse, but the DNC elders -- some of them -- are apparently more realistic that something's got to be done -- and fast.

If he's drugged up enough to spar satisfactorily with Trump at the debates (which seems improbable, as reading a scripted SOTU address in not as hard as offering spontaneous answers and arguments) that might lull the DNC into an unvigilant calm. And so leave him there.

Also, if the DNC were thinking clearly, they would encourage RFK Jr.'s participation in the debates, because any snarly dialogue between Trump and Bobby Jr. could help deflect attention from Biden's cadaverous grasp of none of the issues and his inability to converse.

That's much harder to do with only two candidates present.

Newsome's the one I hear about the most when it comes to replacing Biden. The Dems can work with slimy and inept, so long as they control public perception.

Hillary Clinton spent the last 8 years trying to stay relevant, and I have no doubt she still wants the job. However, she's political poison. I'm not sure if that can be fixed.

Either way, it's painfully obvious that Biden's barely functioning. Even if he's not replaced at the convention, there's no way in hell he makes it another 4 years.

His supporters continue gaslighting people about his condition, but it's undeniable at this point.

No, he'd be replaced after the convention, once he's been ordained as the nominee. Then the DNC gods and goddesses can replace him with whomever they choose, and the public will have no say-so.

But how much say-so have we had anyway? Biden never was seriously challenged in the primary. Most of us Biden voters would have loved a choice. So what if they pick someone else? No where to go but up.

Not much choice at all. There was no serious challenge to Biden in the primary, and that's how they wanted it. But they're still paranoid that someone could appear on the horizon that they can't control prior to the convention. Not that that was going to happen, because they've successfully had that locked down.

But once the convention occurs, there's not even the pretense of public approval needed and then the DNC elders pick whomever the hell they want.

In all seriousness, if the Dems are seriously thinking about doing this, they need to pick a governor from a southern state. Roy Cooper from NC comes to mind. He isn't progressive enough, but managed to be a very popular governor in a red state that the Dems could really use for the EC.

The Democrats aren’t planing to replace President Biden, if there are rumours, they have been started by the Republicans whose nominee is also ancient and regularly saying irrational things (eg. his recent rant about sharks) and confusing people (eg. saying Texas Republican Rep. Ronny Jackson was the White House physician). If this was a serious concern, then both candidates would be under this scrutiny but it’s just more "BUT WHAT ABOUT BIDEN!" distractions.

They're not under the same scrutiny because Biden's physical and mental decline is visibly more severe than Trump's.

Also, Republicans aren't the only ones floating the idea that Biden will likely be replaced after the convention:

Democrats can still jettison Biden as an ‘August Surprise’

At a certain point, none of this makes sense.

“This” being President Joe Biden officially becoming the Democratic nominee for president come the convention in August. The number of Democrats who are honestly thrilled by that eventuality would not fill a Mini Cooper.

A growing number of Democrats see Biden as becoming the political version of “Groundhog Day.” Every night they go to sleep dreaming of having a new nominee, and every morning they wake up to the same old Biden. A president many now see as gaffe-prone, needing to be told where to stand, where to walk and what to say.

As The Hill headlined earlier this week, “Biden’s weakness becomes bigger and bigger worry for Democrats.” Indeed it does.

Because now, as the article highlights, it’s not just about winning the presidency: “Democrats are growing increasingly worried that President Biden’s brutal swing-state numbers could drag down their candidates in the Senate.”

What is being offered up as a “worry” or a “concern” to the public is being treated as a “blind panic” by the Democrats I speak with on a regular basis. As left-of-center Jonathan Chait recently framed it in New York Magazine: “The point here is that Democrats have a Joe Biden problem, not a partywide problem.” Nightmare may have been a more accurate description.

Regarding Biden being a drag on the Democrats chances to hold the Senate in November, a Democratic strategist told The Hill: “Let’s cut through the BS, on the three top issues — inflation, immigration, and the war in Gaza — he’s in the toilet. The polls show he’s not doing well with some of the key voting blocs: young voters, Black voters, Hispanic voters.”

Bingo.

But the truly troubling news for the Democrats does not stop there. Biden is badly losing a three-front political war, and every single person who works in that arena — Democrat or Republican — knows it.

He is losing, or has lost, the confidence of much of the Democratic political class, who fear he is permanently off his game. He and the Democrats are getting rocked weekly by an ascending Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is getting on one state ballot after the other. The latest is Texas, where Kennedy just turned in an astounding 245,572 signatures — twice as many as are required — to gain ballot access in the Lonestar State.

If one were to extrapolate that number based on basic statistics, it’s easy to imagine that Kennedy could have more than 10 times that number of voters in Texas. Voters who many Democrats believe — especially given the full-on assault on Kennedy from the Democratic National Committee and the Biden White House — RFK will drain from Biden.

And last on the three-front battle sits former President Donald Trump. His rally last week in New Jersey was jaw-droppingly impressive, and anyone who claims otherwise is delusional or so deep in the tank for Biden and the Democrats that they can no longer see daylight. Tens of thousands of people came out to roar their approval of the former president and his policies — no doubt, a good many of them disgruntled Democrats.

More and more are coming to believe — as do I — that all of the partisan “lawfare” and Deep State attacks being orchestrated by Democrats against Trump are only increasing his voter base. A rising number view the tactics as an un-American way for Biden and the White House to keep his main political opponent off the ballot. Many also believe this strategy is increasing Trump’s poll numbers — a belief which should be terrifying to the Biden White House and the DNC, when they stop to realize that Trump outperformed his poll numbers in both 2016 and 2020.

With that as background, what is a president seen as cognitively challenged by tens of millions of Americans to do? Apparently, put out a cringeworthy video challenging Trump to two debates while attaching all kinds of strings.

Biden released a 13-second video this week — with five jump-cuts, even though he was reading off a teleprompter — where he came across more as the old guy screaming at kids to “get off my lawn” than the president of the United States. Read Biden, while seemingly channeling Clint Eastwood:

Donald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020. Since then, he hasn’t shown up for a debate. Now he’s acting like he wants to debate me again. Well, make my day, pal.”

Watch out what you are told to wish for.

Again, every single Democrat I speak with wishes they had someone other than Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris as their nominee come November. Be that someone California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker or Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

While the Biden White House, the DNC and media loyal to the Democrats may scream “the cake is baked, and Biden is the nominee,” there is still a very viable escape hatch come the convention in August should the Democrats choose to use it. An escape hatch that would allow them to switch out Biden for Newsom or another candidate.

Until that hatch is welded closed, I believe it will remain a realistic option. An option desired by countless Democratic voters across the nation.

An option which would go down as the most shocking “August Surprise” in modern political history.

Ha! No, they're always too busy sabotaging Bernie. The Democrats won't/can't pick anybody the public at large might like.
Yes, which makes his capitulation to Biden and the Dems all the more disappointing and embarrassing. He should have been a thorn in their side, not their cheerleader.

As an outsider (Aussie) looking in, it's hard to fathom the Democrats believe The President at age 81 years can continue for another 4 years. I'm no fan of the other chap but in all seriousness, is this the best America can offer?

Sadly, it is. The system is rigged against any candidate that's decent and has integrity. Voters are left to choose the person they think will screw them over the least.

The establishment only cares about securing their agenda. They got that with Biden, but now that he's a liability, they might choose to replace him after the convention.

Although Trump does the establishment's bidding, he also exposes their dirty secrets. He's being dealt with too, albeit through the justice system.

You always know so much! How is it possible??

The American public didn't even want the choice of these two geriatric fools four years ago. Let alone now. (Despite the fact that both have their unhinged fandom).

But our choices are rigidly controlled. American democracy -- genuine democracy -- died a long time ago.
