He probably never watched anything beyond the pilot.
It's me or Grant Show actually said that the set was safier when one actress (playing a recast role, meaning Cristal or Alexis) was let go ? Could he talked about Nicolette Sheridan ? Or Ana Brenda Contreras ?
It's also surprising to learn that James Mackay is straight, I would not have guessed.
But it's nice that everyone said they were shocked he was fired and regretted him. They apparently also regretted Nathalie Kelley very much.

Imagine Fallon is walking through the manor, minding her own business when she suddenly hears piano music coming from downstairs. She recognizes the tune---it's the piano version of the OG Dynasty theme--and she literally runs toward the sound of the music as her hunch is proven correct---she sees Steven seated at the piano. "Any requests?" he asks.

They're either talking about Ana Brenda or Nicolette. They talk very complementary about James and Nathalie (watching now and trying to find a tell).

Yes, it's definitely one of them but which one ? Nicolette Sheridan seems the perfect candidate but who knows...

To be honest this re-imagined version of Dynasty was a hot mess from the get-go. It would not have survived without the support of the streaming giant Netflix. That said I love how this version found a fan base. I've enjoyed @Daniel Avery recaps and the continuing chatter from @tommie.
Dallas and Dynasty were two of the giants from the 80's and nothing like the failed TNT Dallas or The CW Dynasty will come close to what those classic prime time soaps did. In the first case we could argue how not to create a continuation and in the second: how not to create a reboot.

Interesting that Elizabeth thinks five seasons is enough and is ready to move on while Grant Show says he could do the show a lot longer. I would think it’d be just the opposite. But Elizabeth is young and the star of it, so if anyone is to emerge from this trash heap of a show it’ll be her. Theres many streaming shows, so something MIGHT come up for her. The rest of them will sink back into oblivion. Kind of bittersweet too. As bad as this show was, this will be the last we see of these characters (even though they are in name only on the Cw) from the 80s soap heyday. With Dallas long gone, now Dynasty is in the history books. Feels like a part of my teen years are ending tonight.

The very reason she was the de facto star of the show is the same reason she's ready for it to end and he isn't. She's intelligent enough to know its potential has always been .... limited.

I've never interacted with her, but on all social media she just seems like a really nice person who cares for what people say - probably why she dropped the whole "original Dynasty fans might not love the show, but those who do love the show loves it" bit. I get the impression she actually cares what people say - which can be a curse for someone in the public eye like her.

Imagine what it could have been if Grant Show had been the center of CWDynasty.
There was nothing wrong with the casting, they simply used the wrong angles. The first season was watchable and the season finale was fantastic - and then it became the Pretty Ugly Betty show and it sucked all the fun out of it.
It seems to me that positive comments here on the forum were usually despite of the dumbified tone and characters.
Real fanship is about genuine appreciation, not just sticking with it. To be fair, that also happened when the classic soaps became less watchable, but at least they had a great premise, history, cast and characters to justify the less successful continuation of their respective soaps.
Stating that this was better than 80s DYNASTY seems pretty delusional to me. On the other hand I'm a little worried now that's it ended. Life felt safer when this bunch was tucked away in their pseudo-soap opera.

We predicted on the forum around 2016 and 2017 what the nuDYNASTY would be like --- more competent in certain ways in comparison to what happened to the original show, wrong-headed and probably too parodic in other ways...
All of which turned out to be true. I'm not sure I'd guessed it would turn into an overt sit-com however, one that the cast would openly concede was so "stupid".
I stopped watching it a while ago. So I'm no authority on the closing season or two.

Heh. Everybody hates Nicolette.
Why though? If she had made the complaints against her boss on DH a few years later she would have had mass support, guilty or not. But it seems the timing if it tainted her reputation.
I know she slated Teri Hatcher.
Perhaps that left people on edge in Dynasty. Do we know why she quit?
I thought she just realised it was do awful it wasn't for her and not the best vehicle to make her return to TV.
