They are getting the decorators in to re paint and modernise the kitchen, Bobbys room and bring back Miss Ellies room.
The real interiors of SF are so tacky and the kitchen and Bobbys room are so naff . Such a disappointment and small! They could have tried to make it similar to the show.

Exactly what I thought when I visited the ranch in 2006. If I'm understanding correctly, the interiors were last redone in 1992! They never suited the characters either.

I did get a quick photo op sitting on Miss Ellie's bed. It was kind of creepy when that room was later used as the hotel room JR died in on TNT's Dallas.

I've been offered loads of times to visit Southfork, but know I'd be disappointed, how does that look like Miss Ellie's room? I understand none of the rooms resemble the studio ones.
Maybe in it's hey day I would've enjoyed seeing the outside, but it looks totally different now from pictures I've seen.
I hope you enjoyed your visit back in 2006 and treasure those memories.

Yeah, the decorating choices are odd.

But yes, I had a great time and have very fond memories. My dad took me for my birthday, and I remember how excited we were as we drove up and the ranch came into view.
