I didn´t really missed her but I would have prefered her instead of Sarah Curtis which was just a Claudia 2.0
The think that missed I most about her was Matthew didn´t talk/ask about her when he came back.
Her death could have been a very good reason for revenge "this rich Carringtons who buy people who
destroy people like my wife Claudia ...now I´m here Krystle to save you"
Another thing I would have preferred: The surrogate storyline would have involved Claudia instead of Karen who gives birth to Adam´s baby ....
Nolan Miller didn't miss her. Apparently, the actress became
difficult -- no doubt over the scripts.
But for such an important character for 6 years, they just dismissed her in a perfunctory way (one that was very predictable by that point in the show) which was cold and perhaps vindictive. David Jacobs, creator of DALLAS, when discussing the manner in which Pam exited DALLAS, said that Victoria "didn't have the best relationship" with the executives and that that can sometimes impact what happens on screen -- like how departures are handled for the characters.
So whether Claudia -- and Amanda -- may have disappeared without a trace or a reference was because of the producers' contemptuousness or incompetence is anybody's guess.
Even Bellwood said that there were reasons "behind the scenes" that Claudia had such "a horrible death."
They even cut an important scene for Claudia just before she accidentally set fire to Colorado. That sometimes happens, but it seems unfair when your drapes are about to explode and you're preparing to leave.
I'm okay with the disposable Sarah Curtis plotline, but it went on for too long... By this time, DYNASTY had long been in a pattern of executing promising storylines in too brief a fashion, yet the claw-your-neck plots with minimal potential would last forever. (I always want her carbon dioxide suicide attempt to occur in those Carrington garages, leading to local tabloid stories dredging up the memory of the starlet Blake -- and, as it turns out, Senator Fallmont -- briefly dated, who'd committed suspicious suicide in the guest houses adjacent to those garages in the months after Alexis was thrown out by Blake. With Alexis fanning the tawdry tale from the shadows... But that's just me).
Just as I'd like the Attkinsons' surrogate storyline in Season 8 replaced with Kirby's return -- she has Adam's three-year-old child and Adam wants custody.
