Not one note we've heard yet of the "supposed" new theme song...

My guess, it will only play in the end credits online or when on DVD...if we even get that!

I'm guessing we don't get any intro whatsoever. The reviews don't even say "Hey, guess what, there is a nice intro with the updated theme!" for those who've seen in...so I am NOT expecting one!

I mean, all these months and there's been nothing, no hint of an updated theme. Not one.

Teaser scene, cut to black, Dynasty logo. that's it. Didn't 90210 use their updated theme in their promo? At least they did that show somewhat right.

You should be able to watch the episode by now (or perhaps within a few hours, you're on the west coast, which is further back in time) and then you will know FOR SURE whether there's an opening theme or not.

I agree that the 90210 show did it right to start with. Also they used some of the original actors in their original roles. Brenda and Kelly was back and so was Kelly's mom Jackie and well the little girl Erin, she was now called "Silver". So that was a big link to the original show. So therefore I would say that 90210 was not really a remake in the same sense as Dynasty was, as there were new characters who blended with the older characters who did guest spots. In the new Dynasty they have just recast everyone.

Also this was the first season 90210 opening credits:

It then got shorter and shorter for each season that passed by! :lolo:

NO THEME SONG! Just go on twitter and type in "Dynasty Theme Song". Instead, they shoot us with Steven playing the theme on the piano! Cancelled very soon!

THE STRAIN didn't have a theme song at the beginning, it was added later and I'm sure AHS ROANOKE didn't have a theme until the second episode.

TRUE...We shall wait and see if there is one in episode 2. They just placed all the names in the teaser scene. And why were there 5 acts after it? 5 commercial breaks? I thought the episode ended after the windmill fell on Matthew and then it switched the scene to Blake and Cristal kissing. Either end it there or just play out the last scenes in that last act, no need for a 5th!

The structure of the commercial breaks is something that only really applies in the US. It's not important to the episode. When these shows make their way to the rest of the world, some channels don't have 5 commercial breaks, in fact most don't, some don't even have any. And if you watch on streaming services there aren't any so I would chill out it's not really important at all.

As a screenwriter, I learned that hour longs have 4 or 6 acts if the writer chooses that. I always follow the structure of Melrose Place when I write my hour longs. A teaser composed of one to several scenes, then 4 acts. HOWEVER, when I looked at a script for "Melrose Is Like A Box Of Chocolates" some of the act breaks and final scenes before commercial were not where the write of that episode ended the act. That's very confusing, because as a writer, I'd want my segments of each act to end on TV with that last scene from that act before a commercial.

I guess writers aren't as important as advertisers. One is paid by the production company, one pays the production company. It's not that shocking.

And the credits get taken out because of awful commercials that aren't as good as the commercials we all loved years ago that were memorable!

Perhaps Bill Conti didn't allow his theme to be used except in the context of the scene with Lil Steven.

I listened to the end theme on the CW player. Yuck! It's just like they did with Melrose Place, as I expected. Some hip theme, nothing mirroring the original.

The title card did appear, but right after that Trump crap they put in. That was the whole teaser, I believe. Act 1 begins once the names appeared onscreen. I was at my computer as I watched the episode, so I turned away for a second and didn't spot the show logo. There were like 5 commercial breaks and 6 acts that followed that horrendous teaser with Trump!

Plus, I looked up Riverdale's ratings on wikipedia and I understand the whole Netflix thing now. Those are very bad ratings for sure but they got a 2nd season but only 13 episodes in season 1 and not sure what they will get for 2...

Riverdale will get a full 22 for season two. The reason season one was 13 episodes was because it was a midseason replacement (essentially, it got put pushed to spring in favour of Supergirl and The CW only seems to have money to promote two shows per season - this season it seems like they're promoting Dynasty and then Black Lightning; Valor and Life Unexpected seems to be getting the second-rate treatment).

So I've heard and read many reasons to give this nuDunasty a failing grade: plot, dialogue, casting. Is the lack of main theme song a good reason to send this along with Karen Cellini? Away? I'm so bummmed that there is no intro theme song. I sat pouting tonight during most of the second episode, upset and sad that there is no frigging theme song. Imagine Star Wars, Superman, Sex and the City, Bonanza, the Love Boat, the A-Team without the intro song! It's a wedding without You May Kiss the Bride, Burt without Ernie, the Dukes without Daisy. It doesn't feel right and doesn't pull me in like I was so hoping it would. I'm angry and hurt and mostly disappointed. I'm true blue and love Dynasty but I'm kind of thinking two eps in that nuD needs to find Karen C and go away. #letdown

Technically if you listen to end credits, you will listen to its theme song. Frankly, all things considered, I now consider it a blessing they don't give more time to it.
