For this tournament 19-year-old Takagenji from Takanohana Beya will make his debut as a new sekitori after ending Haru Basho with a 4-3 result (Ms1w). So former Yokozuna Takanohana will count on three sekitori at the Kokugikan in May. 21-year-old Meisei (M3w, 5-2) will also be promoted to Juryo. He already competed in sumo's second division in November, so he will gain his second promotion ever to the salary ranks.
