It's a scenario I've always envisaged. If we go right back to Digger's Daughter there is this underlying tone that something big was going to happen with our Romeo and Juliet. None of us could see it of course and despite Bobby and Pam being deeply in love it was like the Universe was against them having their happily ever after. I thought the writers did an exceptional job on Jock's death so when Patrick decided he was leaving Dallas for greener pastures I thought, "Here we go." At the reading of Bobby's Will and the final freeze frame JR turns to Pam offering his trademark death stare. Right there. That's a pivotal moment. I'm sure many were thinking what the hell is the guy we all love to hate going to do. Pamela may not have had JR's expertise in business and manipulation but what she lacked there she more than made up with having friends on her side. Cliff could finally help his sister out. Pam could have drawn on the talents of Donna which ruffles Ray's feathers. Sue Ellen and Pam could have had a massive blow up ending their friendship. Heck, I see a cruel and vindictive Sue Ellen reminding Pam she should think less about being in the Ewing office and more about taking care of her nephew. Was there anything better than seeing a bitchy Sue Ellen. And of course we had the rightful Miss Ellie back. Barbara Bel could have been delivering Emmy award winning performances desperately trying to keep what little family she had intact. I had high expectations with the season return after Bobby's death but backroom politics and the introduction of characters best suited to Dynasty just upset the rhythm that was Dallas. So much could have been drawn from Bobby's death, much like Jock's death.
