Two of my favourite Falcon Crest scenes, excluding end of season finales, coincidentally involved Angela crying. They are at the end of Little Boy Blue (season 3 episode 21) when Chase and Cole take Joseph from Melissa:

and The Avenger (season 3 episode 27) when Julia 'dies' in the spring house fire.

This got me thinking, are there any other scenes in which Angela cried? I'm sure there must be but I can't recall any more.

Yes, but I could have done without her "I think I need a friend" confession --- was it to Dan Fixx in Season 7?? --- because that didn't ring true at all, a contrivance by the writers.

Angela showed her soft side in season 3, more than any other T.V. year. First and foremost she was a business leader. However when her three children were in jeopardy she really would have walked over hot coals, for them.

In another 3rd season scene Angela reads Julia's college letter (after the snatching of Joseph and them hiding in the springhouse) and understandably gets very upset. Jane might have had a small tear here. If she hadn't her eyes certainly watered up. Superb acting (as shown below):

In your favourite cliffhanger @Angela Channing namely 6 the tears were also flowing when Jacqueline's bombshell was dropped, about Richard being Angela's son.

Just before Peter leaves Falcon Crest he presents Angela with a letter; (a scene from season 6, 1986 - '87):

Angela remembers what Peter said before he left, "once you've read it my dear, your life will never be the same."

She begins to read the letter, after Peter has flown out of California, on his private jet. We then hear the voiceover of Peter.

"My darling Angela what you're about to open is a Pandora's box. I pray I've made the right decision, in giving it to you. When I went first to find something to help you destroy Richard Channing I discovered his father Douglas Channing had left a safe deposit box, in a Swiss bank.

The bribe worked and the box was mine. Inside were several documents and a confession; you're ex husband's confession. Angela my dear, Douglas and his mistress hated you so much they did a terrible thing. The first child the one before Julia and Emma was born healthy and yet died so mysteriously, (the beginning of flash back scenes). He didn't die. Douglas and Jacqueline Perrault stole him, to hurt you.

They faked the death certificate and sent him off, to be raised in Europe. The boy grew up, fed on hate. Richard Channing is your son. The proof is in the enclosed envelope." Angela sitting at her desk doesn't know which way to turn or to who and then cries.

That's another great scene and I agree the acting from both Jane and Lorenzo is first rate. Angela expresses deep sadness and a bit of an emotional wobble rather than actual tears but a superb scene nonetheless.

I think Angela cried, whenever Melissa burnt the mansion, in 1988. I can't be completely sure. It was such a heart breaking time, for the wine making boss.
I just rewatched those scenes from the episode Ashes To Ashes (season 8, episode3) and Angela looks devastated as she surveys the remains of Falcon Crest after the fire. However, she doesn't cry, maybe explained by Chao-Li's positivity and Richard's reaction in this dialog between them:

Richard:
Damn shame. This is worse for her than losing Falcon Crest to Melissa.
Chao-Li: She'll get it back and build again.
Richard: I don't doubt it Chao-Li

I'm beginning to think that maybe she didn't cry on any other occasion in the series.
